Hey, readin the story now, really liking it. Some constructive criticism though - be careful with your tenses - it jumps from past to present a wee bit. Also, you say about pinky maybe enjoying having mer mane set on fire that

If Twilight had come back to the day of her death she could, at least in theory, have both Magic and Kindness. She could also hypothetically come back to a point where she also has Laughter and Honesty, but by that point things are on a rail and it wouldn't help her much. Her best bets would be either coming back shortly after acquiring Kindness, or just starting over from scratch and coming back shortly after the defeat of Nightmare Moon. The latter would likely be the better choice as no one else should be able to follow through that loop, unless either Dash or Rarity kill the other for their element, in order to send at least one of them back to stop Twilight...

Luna walked down the street, shyly grinning at the passersby. She was off work, just having come down and had a cup of tea with her sister, and was now trotting down the street hearing the sound of her hoofs on the cobblestone of the bustling and happy market, staying away from the others. They gave her friendly smiles, a few occasionally waving at her with their hoofs. She occasionally waved back, and smiled a little, if she knew them. That being that she had spoken maybe a full sentence to them, and recognized their faces, their manes, or even just their Cutie marks. Behind their smiles, though, she knew who they were. They were enemies, evil, bad. Just like her...

She was on the way to her secret. The small, out of the way shack she had seen once while in the dark and star lit sky, and had been thinking of all through her time in that lonely prison her accursed sister had held her in for so long. She fondly remembered the first time she had gone there, to see if anypony still inhabited it. It was as empty as her heart the first time she stepped foot inside, but she had filled it. It was bigger than she had thought at first, too, which only meant that she would need more things to put in it. She didn't mind, she enjoyed getting the things. It was something she had gotten very good at.

People didn't find it odd at all that she went for walks in the forrest. Sure they had been suspicious, but the tea circles and market small talk had cleared that up. 
"Isn't it odd that she only ever goes in alone?"

"Sure, but she was kept alone for so long! I'm sure she is just having a hard time adjusting. Give her space, and she will come out of her shell."

"Yeah, you have a point. So anyways, did you hear about that pony that went missing from Ponyville? Everypony was looking for her, oh, what was her name?"

Thus it settled itself, and the conversation slipped over into the latest bit of scandal and gossip. A good thing, too. She couldn't let anypony find her secret. She looked around, and saw that her thoughts had carried her far. She was no longer in the lower city ma

"Really? You will let me go? Oh thank you, miss Luna! I swear I won't tell anypony, I swear!"
"I'm quite sure of that, my dear. Quite sure."
Luna smiled, and swung the table around, so the pony's feet were facing the center of the dark, candle lit room. She grabbed a few levers on the pivoting base, and the table swung forwards, until the pony on it was suspended straight up. The enchanted black string holding her there pulled against her wrists and ankles, biting into her flesh.

"Wouldn't want you to miss the opening act, dear, Luna said, grabbing the Pegasus ponies wings and feeling the soft grey feathers. Gaining a surprised gasp from her captive, the night goddess trotted to the center of the room, pulling a small iron object with her. Moving it into position an pulling it open, she revealed it to be an old rusty bear trap, poised and ready for her plans. She walked over to the cages, and looked over the labels on the doors for her target. 
"Let's see...Foxes...Squirrels...Raccoons...Ah! Here we are!" she said, opening the cage and reaching inside. "Come on, little one, let's have a little fun."

She grabbed the small creature and pulled it out. It was a small bunny, snatched up a few days before the pony. She had lured it away with a small treat, and then snatched it up. It was afraid at first, and tried to escape and run back to it's owner, a cute yellow pony with pink hair. Then Luna had grabbed it again before it could get away, and beat it with a nearby stick. She had whipped it at first, then slowly stabbed in the foot with a sharp end. After that, it sat in her hoofs, terrified as she few it away from its home, from its caretaker.

Now she pulled it out, laughing as it struggled to escape her grasp.

Personality: Arcane Dream prefers to keep to himself and his research. He is the type that has few friends, but those that he calls friend are very close to him.
Backstory: Orphaned as a newborn, Arcane Dream was taken in by a family of unicorns. While growing up he was fascinated by the magic his parents could perform, and sought to understand it. He studied magic as he grew, even though he could not use it himself. After a lifetime of studying magical theory in Canterlot Arcane Dream was no closer to his goal of performing magic, so he beseeched Princess Celestia to grant him a boon: he asked for the ability to cast a single spell before he passed away. After lengthy discusion she obliged. Using this boon wisely, Arcane Dream used his extensive knowledge of magic to turn back time itself; he infused his body with youth in the hope that, given more time, he may yet find a way to use the magic that so enthralls him.

This should be interesting! I look forward to reading it when it's done.

Special talent: Magic revolving around water, ice, and steam.
Personality: Drip is a shy pony who prefers to do things on his own. It bothers him when others try helping him, because he hates feeling like he has to repay a debt. However, he has few qualms about leading a hoof to someone else if they need it.
Despite his shyness, Drip adores performing his water magic in front of others, as it's one of the few things he's ever received praise for in his life.
Drip loves a good storm and is more than willing to go for a walk in any wet (and/or cold) weather, no matter how bad it is.
Back Story: Drip had a rough childhood and was mocked by the other young unicorns because he could not cast any magic outside of water spells. He can't use telekinesis on anything not made of water. While other unicorns used their magic to write and manipulate other small objects all at once, Drip had to resort to moving things about, one at a time, with his mouth.

Personal peeve-I don't like the idea that ponies only live to be in their 20's. I sort of like the idea that they have life-spanks equal to humans.

Now as you mention it, I think you are right. For the moment, I wanted to keep her busy enough to not being able to care about her constitution too much. Maybe, I overdid it. On the other hand side, Bernd spent a half day in shock, weakened from thirst, hunger and the previous pain.
As compensation, there will be more "intern" problems (like emotions going mad about this and that) instead of the "extern" ones (where am I, where to get food) added, in the next chapter. Still thinking about the details.

Pride here again, I proofread the first chapter but have recently given myself a name.

Hm... a solid story for an episode, lacking only the wrap-up lesson at the end - maybe something about being cruel to be kind or whatnot?

Regardless, an entertaining read. If your story does not fit the actual episode, I shall enjoy finding out the differences between them.

Yeah, I was planning on making a wrap up lesson, but time was growing short, and the key thing was to release this before the episode, so that even people who find this after seeing the episode will know I wrote it before. And when I got to the end I just had so much trouble figuring out how to arrange for Twilight to come and pick up the kids with Applejack.
