#Vectors #OCs #Gallery #Taking commissions #Critique wanted This is my second re-color of my OC Pearlescents, tell me what you guys think! ^^
#OCs #Critique wanted I want to start learning to draw, and have already started doing so a little bit, but I also wanna make sure that my OC, Toolbox, is "ready". Have had him for quite some time now without anyone saying "that looks horrible", but I'm guessing that's just from a lack of wanting to make waves. So I'm asking outright: are the colors bad? Do they clash horribly?I'll be keeping the coat and hat, though the "tools" on the hat (which are hardly distinguishable in this image) may be removed in order to make things a little simpler. The colors are the main things in the air. Would love to be able to keep the jacket green, but have checked a different color scheme that definitely doesn't look as good with it green as with other colors. The current Cutie Mark is supposed to be a swiss army knife. I've got a leatherman tool "in reserve" for other color schemes. The talent is versatility, being a "jack of all trades", so those two Cutie Marks are the only ones I can really think of.
>>125718Grey tends to be a neutral color and tends to go with lots of different colors so you will be surprised what you can get away with when using grey. Sometimes I tend to overlook color schemes depending if the OC has a well developed character/personality, but thats just me.But regarding the look of this O.C... If there is one thing I hate more about some O.C.'s is recolors, and this seems to be essentially a Braeburn recolor especially with that hat, if there's anything I can suggest it would be a new haircut.
Yeah, I had to use some sort of base image due to being a terrible artist. XD I want to learn to draw so that I can stop using Braeburn images, and so that I can get more dynamic poses. That said, I do still like the long hair, though with the way I'm drawing it currently, it's a bit straighter rather than the curvy hair Braeburn has. The hat will probably end up looking different when I start drawing it, too; more angular, with a kinda cobbled-together junkyard look.
Here's the main color change that I've been looking at. The Cutie Mark is different, as well, to fit in better. Didn't draw it, just cobbled it together really quickly for concept's sake. Also considering having the hat be red, shooting for a sorta American Flag appearance. X) Would just need to toss in some white somewhere.
#Digital #Canon #Critique wanted Was this is bit much for trying to be creative?I wanted to take a shot making something surreal
>>125686I like it I think it looks pretty cool. fuck the world draw weird shit.
>>125686Full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.-aside, you've got the whole "be different" thing down, but there's a good and a bad kind of different; one with purpose and one without. So, A for effort -probably- but a bit more elaboration and focus on a theme or a general concept would do wonders to your compositional constitution.
Oddly enough, this is just the sort of shit I'm in need of as of recently. Let's talk more
#Digital #Discussion How do you blend colors in SAI?I'm having a bit of trouble understanding how to color. would anyone know?
>>125702You could use the blur tool.Scroll down on the little grid of tools and click "blur"I find that it looks really nice.
>>125702Same way you blend in any other program; have a pressure sensitive brush, color, sample the fringes and color again.
>>125709Like he says. My typical setup is to set the density kinda low, like in the thirties. Then in the Advanced Settings for the brush set pressure to control density (and density alone; size and blend stay unchecked). It kinda feels more like paint to me that way.Once you do that you can slap down two colors, kinda streak one across the other, then use the clicky button on the stylus to choose the new shade of color you just created, and repeat ad infinitum.(There is an actual setting called "blending" that is a slider from 0 to 100. 100 means you pick up a lot of whatever color is under you, 0 is pretty much MS Paint. You can play with that setting, and even tie it in to the stylus pressure, but for me that path leads only to madness. 50 works fine for me.)
#Traditional #Canon #OCs #Gallery #Taking requests #Taking commissions #Critique wanted LET ME DRAW FOR YOU THE PRETTY PONIES!or, you know, other things. I don't always draw ponies, but when I draw it's usually ponies.I'm still pretty new at this, so if you want a comission, please post in this thread, email me [email protected] and we'll work out the details, including pricing.I also take unpaid sketch requests on a first-come, first-served basis. These will be lower quality, and may be the subject of experimental techniques. I'm always learning, and admittedly things don't always work out. If you think I missed you, pester me in thread and/or through email. And with both commissions and requests, I appreciate you linking or posting referance material, such as a verbal description or Ponycreator image.Caveats:…Read more >>
>>125580also I'll add that I really enjoy your style man your characters are very expressive but everything is still very fluid, hah and I dunno it's just a very nice feeling in my eyes.
>>125576>>125580>>125583Well, thank you. I'm not quite at the place I'd like to be with my art yet, but I've been working to improve. I'm actually taking lessons under a veteran animator. (You know those celebrity caricatures that would show up on Pinky and the Brain? He designed those.)
While at the mall the other day, I swear I saw a girl in a simple Vriska cosplay. It wasn't elaborate; just the glasses. The left lens was blacked out with a pattern of seven red dots drawn on it. I didn't say anything (you know, just in case it had nothing to do with the sticking of homes and I was just reading too much into her choice of eyewear), but I thought it was pretty cool how the fandom has penetrated all walks of life.
#Digital #Canon #OCs #Gallery #Taking commissions Oop, no wonder i'm not getting any more feedback on my old thread, it's already on autosage!Previous thread:>>105303deviantart: http://siansaar.deviantart.com/tumblr: http://carniscorner.tumblr.com/ask blog: http://askvelvet.tumblr.com/
Hello. I am looking for a commission, but I am not sure if you would be willing to take it. So I am asking around. It's for a story I am writing, and though it's not just a gore story, I am looking for a gore cover. So I'll just ask: Is a pony's head exploding, something you could do?
>>125447if i don't have to render bits of skull or eyeballs flying around (essentially reducing it to a blood fountain), i could see myself doing it. might need more info before i can give a definitive answer.you can find pricing info, email contact and such here:http://carniscorner.tumblr.com/post/40622114095/commission-info-masterpost-rules-paypal
sorry to say that i'm gonna stop posting art here. there's simply too little feedback, and posting itself is also rather slow (gets pretty bad when trying to make an image dump).you can still find my stuff on tumblr/deviantart.thank you to everyone who left a few friendly words, and i hope to see you around.
#Traditional #Digital #Canon #OCs #Gallery Deviantart: http://fribox.deviantart.com/Livestream: http://www.livestream.com/frybawksLivestreams won't be announced, you can find me and a bunch of others artists over at http://ponyhell.com/Dropping sketches in here mostly, probably not much finished artwork. Sketches and humanized requests are open; OCs and canon. Armor, fun, and ridiculousness are encouraged.

>>125670why would you bump this thread when I made another one.
Fribox has requested a lock on this thread; a new one is available elsewhere on art!Thank you, everypony, for your understanding!
#Canon #Discussion #Critique wanted I hope this goes here !https://soundcloud.com/derpygrooves/bathing-in-blossomsThe musicians seem to like it, but I would like some feedback from non-musos. This isn't exactly my typical style and I would love some feedback!
Sounds nice. And weird at the same time. I think its the repeated Japanese phrase.
>>125649With the glitch-breaks you should at least have something keep running in the background unless you're using them very sparingly for a climax (which you did during the later parts, mostly, but during the intro it is excessively distracting). Having the music grind to a halt every ten seconds made me worry my computer was breaking rather than thinking it was a clever piece of music. Why the language shift, though? None of your other works are in Japanese and I'm not really sure if the introduction of a foreign language really added to your art unless you're substituting cryptic methods for meaning. Either way, I'm not entirely sure what the song is talking about simply because of it. Sure, you gave your translation at the bottom, but I took the phonetic text above it and pushed it into Google Translate and it asked me what I was drinking to think that was a language it could translate for me. So for all I know this could actually be a song about banana pudding being eaten by a seven year old Dutch boy visiting Angola for the first time.I'm not terribly sure what the style is you're going for. You said it was different from what you usually do but I can't place what you were aiming for. It reminds me of glitch-pop -or what ever you consider groups like Of Porcine to be- except with less an emphasis on keeping a steady rhythm or on the low end at all. It makes me think of something more avant-garde like Eric Gunther (you'll have to search something like Eric Gunther - Default to find any of his stuff amidst the rubble of the internet), only it's more uptempo with no overarching melodies unless you include that looping arp in the background. Not really sure how "Cyberpunk twincest beats" ties into the music. Granted it's hard to say music really stands for one thing explicit over another -which was the cause of a great deal of controversy in the Soviet Union if you care- but this has lyrics, and the lyrics don't really help either. All in all; eh…Read more >>
#Digital #OCs #Critique wanted Es Linebacker
Dark colors (gray, black) contrasted with glaringly over-saturated (yellow, red) ones? Not usually (read: ever!) a good idea. Also, Ponycreator? Really? On /art/? Standards are low enough in this fandom that just about anyone's hand-drawing is acceptable because at least they put time and effort into it.What about the team he plays for? Do his colors reflect that at all? With fate basically reflected in both their names and colors at birth, most ponies would probably resemble their fate in some way.Gonna need more than a ponycreator pic with the phrase "Es Linebacker" to actually give a good bit of advice on this. Did you put any thought into it beyond pick colors, gender, and profession, like, say, A NAME?!Last edited at Thu, Aug 15th, 2013 01:13
Es Linebacker? I've no idea what the Es part is. What is an Es? How do you pronounce it? Google Search shows nothing particularly useful. But apparently Es is the symbol for Einsteinium. A synthetic element on the periodic table. But I don't think you're going for that. A foreign name maybe? It's not a typical pony name, thats for sure. Also what Anon said. You should heavily consider drawing the character out and refrain from Ponycreator.
#Traditional #Canon #Discussion #Critique wanted so.. i made dis. watcha think?
I can dig that. Planning on more?
#OCs my pony fursona
Whats it a combo of?
#Digital #Vectors TLDR: How long does it take them to model out the all the flash poses and animation for a pony normally? --------------------------------------------------------------------I started watching a youtube channel called Draw with Jazza, https://www.youtube.com/user/DrawWithJazzaI *highly* recommend. He is an excellent teacher. I picked up a old version of flash for cheap and updated it then started working while I listened to Jazza's video. It took me a day just to build my first character, then today to rebuild it because I didn't do it right the first time for animation. I figured out how to do basic animation. This is only my second day using flash.. like ever.. so it's still ugly as sin but I am really enjoying flash. I'm just wondering how realistic animation in flash is for a potential career choice. (assuming I get better at it) https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/19100276/changeling7.htmlLast edited at Sat, Aug 10th, 2013 22:37
The actual flash animation is the link at the bottom of the first post now. It wasn't working originally. I have all the animations running I did today in a loop to get a look at them. It's set to high speed but it's a test file more than an animation. I'm not to upset with it as this is Day 2 of me learning flash. Youtube is awesome.
I've heard of this guy. Ever since I saw his videos I've been wanting to buy a copy of flash.
#Digital #Taking requests #Taking commissions #Critique wanted Hi. I just want to pony...
>>125562... Post a reference for me to work from?
>>125585
hmm..would it possibly be too much to ask for a pirated up version of Vinyl Scratch? I don't have any money for a commission, so I'd be fine with a doodle if you get bored in the near future :Dand by pirated up I mean like, yar matey!Last edited at Mon, Aug 12th, 2013 14:47
Hello, I'm new to this ponychan thing, sorry if I am doing this wrong. Can someone tell me where I can buy this poster? Thanks alot
>>125588not sure if like this is the correct place for this; However Enterplay was selling them, not sure if they still do.
Hi there!I tried looking around and I couldn't find anything. But I think you should try to ask in /merch/. I think they're pretty knowledgeable on this stuff. If that fails you could try to find the picture online and have it printed somewhere like vistaprint.de (Guessing you're German based on your mail address)Also.. If you're German you should probably swing by /int/ and say hello in the Deutscher thread.
>>125590>>125589Yeah, Enterplay sells them but not ship them to Europe :(I would like to get it printed but I dont have the picture itself, just this and some 100x100 thumbnails of this image. I will ask /merch/. Thanks anywayHere is the other picture I have, but it's way too small and not usable for a poster in like 60x90 cm
#Digital #Discussion Am I doing this right?
The tablet somehow messed up my computer and made it behave strangely. The odd thing though, the computer works fine without the tablet plugged in. Is this a common problem?
>>125548Can't say I've ever had something like that happen to me. Did you reboot your computer 50 times and give it a ham sandwich? You might want to check out your drivers, though. See if you've got the right version for them. Unless this isn't a new tablet and you've used it before, in which case I'd recommend rolling back your computer in case some recent installation or a virus messed with your PC.
>>125554It's running fine now. Turns out it's a common problem, the driver is usually incompatible and there are various versions for the same tablet model. I'm trying a different one now and it's working so far.
