The cutie mark should be more stylized, IMO, but that's just visual style nitpicking; the level of detail in the cutie mark is much higher than the level of detail anywhere else.I wouldn't be worried about the goggles being similar to Vinyl's goggles -- in the real world, there are product trends among certain cliques.I can't find anything wrong with the design. It doesn't break ground, but it's still memorable without being garish or crude. You might want to give the tail a slightly more active shape, but I wouldn't change the purely downward curve. This might just be another style nitpick, since what I want to see is the width of the tail base to be more different than the width of the tail's bulk.That said, any decisions you have made deliberately are yours. As a graphic designer, a lot of the work I do is controversial, and I tend to ignore criticism of deliberate decisions I made because I tend to know why I made those decisions, and if they end up being the wrong decision I'll know for my own reasons.
Alot of artists in /art/ and out livestream their pony drawings, and it's lots of fun! What isn't as fun, and what's been abit of a problem for me recently, is hunting for the livestream links, being unsure weather somepony is livestreaming or not, and possibly missing out on some awesome livestream goodness. >see attached imageBut really, your stuff looks fine if you stay consistent with it. If you made the head a little smaller, perhaps, it wouldn't look out of proportion to the neck. Or maybe just lower the head, but then that might reduce the "airiness" that you've got going on.

So all artists willing to participate can announce it here.How does it work?First we allign the artists volunteering in a certain sequence.Then each after the other contributes a page of 1 to 3 panels to the comic to continue the story in progress. The story will not have a set storyboard, so there is some freedom of moving it in all sorts of directions. Well, there will be a concept to be decided on (like Pinkie goes to las Pegasus) and obviously we're gonna set it in the atmosphere of ponies and pony-canon.Note that the story is freestyle, but you have to work with what is given to you. Well, I've decided to go for it. The blog is live at http://askprincipalmolestia.tumblr.com/Despite the objections of the 3D modeler, I've decided to go with completely traditional. More people have preferred that, and, most importantly, it's many orders of magnitude easier for me. I'll probably use digital for some special effects like night shots and epic magic spells, but other than that, not much. I have, however, based on your guys' (sic?) input, decided to ditch the markers, which should make the linework look a little cleaner. With any luck, that makes the traditional artwork look a bit better.If anyone has any critiques of the comic, feel free to reply to this thread or submit it as a question on the blog.If not, maybe follow the blog and ask some questions? Anyways, thanks for all of your help, and I'll try to make this comic as good as I can. :p

#Vectors #Alterations #OCs #Discussion A lot of people use Recolors for their unoriginal OC. This is fine and all, but EVERYONE can tell when you used the paint bucket, ESPECIALLY for those eyesNOW. This is a Guide for doing recolors! (and a bad one at that, as this is my FIRST guide)SO. the first thing you will want to do, is have an image manipulation program, for my purposes, i will use GIMP. (paying for Photoshop is for chumps, and pirating it is for... Pirates...)The next thing you do is you open the image you want to Recolor, for my purposes, i will be recoloring a Vector of your Friendly Neighborhood Rainbow Dash into the OC of my friend, Mystic Bolt.After you have your Vector open, duplicate the background layer( incase you make a BIG mistake, and can't CTRL Z out of it, this will also help in selecting the areas you are recoloring) and while you're at it, create new layers for each part you are recoloring (separate layer for the body, eyes, cutiemark, and mane, the tail too if the tais is a different color than the mane)Next, select the duplicated background layer, If you are changing the Cutiemark, go ahead and paint over it with the body color of the CURRENT CHARACTER, not the OC! now, select the duplicated layer, and Desaturate Luminosity…Read more >>

my suggestion is look at as many references are you can, art guides, other peoples work ect, and just try to draw them free-handed. After drawing and drawing and drawing you will get better and better.
