Hello everyone! I'm beginning to work on a MLP fan-game, a point-and-click adventure game in the style of games like Monkey Island, King's Quest, Space Quest, etc. See that neat little screen shot? Notice there's not much to show. That's because I'm looking for people to help fill that in for me. While I can write and program, I am by no stretch of the imagination, an artist. (I don't even know if I'm allowed to use the art in that screenshot for the final game)

So, that's why I'm looking for artists and animators to help fill in those visuals. Any and all submissions are welcome, of course, but mainly the visuals that I need are character walk cycles, basic actions, and a few "Scene specific" animations. Nothing (I hope) too difficult or time-consuming.

Of course, if anyone would like to help expand this game and refine it by making music or doing voice acting, that would be greatly appreciated, but my main focus at the moment is the visuals, as the engine I'm working in is very visually-based.

Now then, I'm sure the big question at this point, is what the game's about. Here's a quick synapsis:

Twilight, while researching the Elements and the Tree of Harmony, discovers of an event coming up in two weeks, "When an empty moon (new moon) eclipses the sun". Known as the "Black Eclipse", the one day every couple thousand years where Celestia and Luna's magic is dispelled and useless.

This magic includes the seal on the gates of Tartarus, which holds back creatures that were barely banished with the power of the elements. But now, without them, Twilight must find a new way to keep these creatures at bay, and she only has 2 weeks to figure it out!

Throughout the story, she and the rest of the mane 6 will meet and help out 6 new ponies in town, and along the way, they will discover that while the Elements of Harmony are the most powerful magical elements in Equestria, they aren't the only one. The Tree of Harmony, free to grow and thrive once again, has begun to spread "Seeds".

If you're interested in contributing, or have any questions, don't hesitate to post here, or to contact me via email! I'd love to hear from anyone and everyone.

Hi! What OSes does your engine support? Also, what format would you expect animations to be? Sprite-sheet, animated GIF, flash, etc. If the artist chose to, could they put their animations in the public domain? Are you also looking for background artists?
>> No. 46046
Hi there! The engine I'm using works for windows, and allegedly Mac, but I haven't tried it yet. The animations need to be sent to me in the form of individual frames (Or gifs, the frames just save me a step of breaking it apart into frames). I'm looking for artists for backgrounds, character animations, interfaces (inventory menus and whatnot) and other miscellaneous things (items, icons, cursers, etc)

As far as public domain goes, as long as I have the right to use it in this game, I don't mind what you choose to do with them after :)

Honestly, I'll take what I can get. As you can see, I'm currently borrowing from Desktop Ponies, and while I'd prefer to have a different art style, if any artists/animators are comfortable with Desktop ponies, then you're more than welcome to help too.

Care to actually tell us the name of the engine? Might as well give a link for the lazy people.

Also, do you have a project specification? If not then you should take the time to write up at least ten pages.

Whoops, haha yes, it's called Visionaire Studio.

As far as the project specifications, I don't have anything at the moment, I wasn't expecting to treat this project so formally, but you make a good point. I'll gather up my scattered notes into something and probably have it up sometime tomorrow.

Also, if there's any other questions, feel free to email me, I'll probably end up replying faster

Oh... hehe... did I say a few days? I'm pretty sure I said almost a month, I have no idea what you're talking about >_>;

Anyway, yes. I way underestimated the time it would take, and I'm still adding to it as time passes. But the majority of the information is in the google doc below. Any other questions, feel free to reply here or email me (use the one I used for this reply, which is officially dedicated to just this game)

Hello everyone! Just a friendly reminder that this project is still ongoing and is looking for artists, both to design the scenery and the characters. We're looking for any and all who are willing to help, so don't hesitate to contact me with any questions!

Who's ''we''? you just said you didn't have a team.
>> No. 46813
Okay, sorry. "I'm" still looking to build a team. Excuse my hopeful word choice

Hello, I work in auditory areas including sound, music, and voice acting. Let me know if there is something that I can do.
>> No. 47083
That's great! The main thing we need right now is music
How do you feel about writing light, basic background themes for a few characters?
