YES.

Shattered Memories and Downpour were great and all, but a Kojima-fronted Silent Hill game already sounds like GOAT-tier material IMO.

Compared to Homecoming and Origins maybe.

But holy fuck, Hideo and Guillermo del Toro on the same game? All my yes. Guillermo should focus on getting At The Mountains of Madness made though, I'm kinda pissed he's taking so fucking long. But this is gonna be cool.

If you have a PS4, you should definitely download the demo.

There's a lot of figuring out where you're supposed to go, but its scary as fuck.

Please. It can't be even in the same league as Goat Sim.

This has confused me recently, apparently Homecoming has better reviews than Downpour but before Downpour came out I remember everypony saying how awful Homecoming was.
I guess it's just a case of everypony ragging the newest entry.

The SH fanbase like to bitch about every game that came out after 3.

Funnily enough, it becomes incredibly obvious that 50-75% of these people have never actually played any of those games when asked why they're so terrible. The resulting complaints can basically be summed up as "we want games that are exactly like 1, 2, and 3".

Personally, while I don't particularly care for Origins and Homecoming, I love how the series doesn't really play it safe like so many other game franchises, and is willing to try out different thing.

If anypony's skeptical of 4 (thankfully, though, the general reception for this has been getting more positive recently), Origins, Homecoming, Shattered Memories (which is a reimagining of the first game that runs in a different direction, and not a remake), and Downpour, I'd recommend playing them for yourselves (used copies aren't too expensive), form your own opinions, and ignore the fanbase.

Hopefully, Kojima's kept on a bit of a leash.

Now, I love the guy, and I think he's a genius, but for him, subtlety must be some kind of food.

Saying Shattered Memories is a re-imagining is all well and good, but it's....also kind of a lazy game from a creative point of view. It's incredibly cliched and predictable. The plot twists are all exactly what you expect, everything feels very ham-handed and melodramatic, and it really doesn't do as well as the original did in actually building up its atmosphere.

It does have an awesome UFO ending though.
