I know, but then Activision tells them what they should be doing?

or something?

Obviously Act oversees the major stuff but Blizz still controls some stuff on their own.

Do you mean the video game developer Blizzard and the game publisher Activision or their parent company Activision Blizzard?

That is what confuse me.

I know Activision is a publisher.
I know Blizzard is a developer

So what exactly do Activision Blizzard?
share the money?

Big companies/holdings often have subsidiaries and divisions that focus on a particular business.

Activision Inc. was a publisher who merged with Vivdendi who were the parent company of Blizzard Entertainment.

They formed a holding company named Activision Blizzard and now have Activision and Blizzard as seperate subsidiaries under them.

It's hard to say in how far they "share the money". They are the owners of both companies, thus they can more or less tell them how they should operate, how to invest their money etc.

It's also a means of limiting risks. If anything would happen to Activision or Blizzard (e.g. they file bankruptcy or break a law) Activision Blizzard might not be liable for it and they would not be able to get sued. So such a burden would not hit the entire company but only the subsidiaries.
