Howdy! How are things going? Doesn't matter what your answer is, we're here to listen. Unless we're asleep. But we're usually here.

Well I'm looking for a job now, and that's probably what I'll be doing when I get back. I want to spend as little time there as possible. If everything goes well, I'll get a job before Christmas, then save for ~6 months and move the fuck out around May. I'll probably have enough by then to move to Seattle like I want to.

PSP, so basically but also kind of not. The emulator seems to run fine on my laptop - but whether it'll handle a game is a different matter altogether. My laptop lags with my DS emulator, so I'm skeptical. I'm going to try a different emulator though, one that supposedly works better with the rom in question.

I'm trying to play the Sword Art Online game since last night's discussion really sparked my curiosity and this seems my only way to get my fix in terms of a SAO game.

Yeah, Arch Enemy. I'd be a little more elaborate, but I can't seem to concentrate enough to gush about music or explain why this is such a significant development anymore.

Two hours, eh? How long would something like that usually take?

Unless someone starts playing engie and racks up the kills, which usually results with half the team being engie to hop onto the kill-wagon. All the mini sentries. It's like a pygmy forest of high fire-rate, mechanical death traps!

>>1652330
Yeah, I know what you mean here. It was pretty okay. I wonder why they released it for the PS systems at all...hm... I take it the games reflect what was in the anime, at least in part?

Oh, most certainly! The way this system works is that a 60% turns into a 100%, so I don't really have to do a great job or anything. I just need to say what I did and why and I'm golden! Failing it would actually be rather difficult, as just simply signing your name and adding the date is 20% of the grade.

Well good for you, but key prices are going up insanely since Halloween and even before that, from as low as high-end 8 ref to 9, 10, currently sitting at 10.44 and soon might rise to 11 and beyond. That and refined metal monetary values are dropping to $0.21, probably due to the massive influx of metal going around the market.

I'd prefer the economy before Halloween, probably starting at the LaW update, minus all the price reductions on some things.

It's a platform game, which Sonic is, but Sega has said Sonic Boom has a different tone. It has moments like usual Sonic games, but also combat moments (doesn't phase me, I played Sonic Unleashed, which had combat), exploration, and puzzle solving.

Only concern I have is bugs and from what I've seen it's there really aren't any that happen. Worth noting the few I've seen were purposely triggered (someone found a glitch, rather than having it just happen).

I'm gonna play it Christmas day hopefully. I'm sure I'll enjoy it.

Mmhmm!

People have already hyped it to be "Sonic '06 2". It has a metacritic of 39, while Sonic 06 has 48. Worth noting Sonic Boom has 5 critics compared to '06's 38 Critics.

Personally, people take Metacritic and reviews way too seriously and treat it like fact. :\

From what I've seen of '06 playthroughs and a playthrough of Sonic Boom, it looks nothing like '06.

Eeyup, that's the one!

It's funny, because at my old job I'd see the packages damaged products come in all the time. Our post office will put them in this big plastic package with a note on it about how 'your item was damaged in transit' and I was alarmed by how often you'd see this - yet it didn't occur to me when placing the order.

They're not too bad though, skimmed through them all and they're still very much readable so who cares?

I was really hoping to make my Crichton collection as pristine as possible, however, and conveniently enough Sphere is the one that came out the worst of the bunch.. heh.

ilol'd
My friend dealt with that shit all the time in his apartment.

So far, my worst experience was getting my guitar

Backstory: My old job works through an American company, they send us orders and we process them for the Canadian distribution

>Order guitar
>Get it's arrival date right down to the day
>Three days before, I'm given that day off because it's an American holiday and there won't be anything for us to do
>Can't believe my luck, now I don't have to go pick up my guitar at the post office
>Instead of enjoying my day off, I sit at home all day waiting for this guitar to arrive
>Postal van finally pulls in, woman comes to door
>First thing she says 'YOU OWE ME MONEY' (referring to duties)
>Thrown off, but looked into this earlier and saw they're supposed to carry debit machines with them
>Ask her (rhetorically) if I can pay with debit
>'NO YOU HAVE TO PICK IT UP'
>Turns around and leaves
If I knew that sooner I wouldn't have blown off my damn day off.

Oh, and there was also the time I ordered a microphone and never got it on the day... and then when I contacted the post office, they'd accidentally mailed it right back to the shop. I don't think we actually have any used book stores where I live anymore - at least none within range, but there was one down the street where I picked up one of my favorite Crichton novels for a mere two bucks. Such a steal. Once they closed down, however, well I didn't feel like I had any other options, the online sites seemed too good to be true and thus I didn't trust them but a friend recommended one in particular and knowing someone else used it with success was enough for me to pull the trigger.

So I made an account so I could make a wishlist for whenever I'm done what I'm working through, and they were all 'we're having a sale!' and I was all 'fuck this let's be impulsive!' and ordered eight books.. heh.

Don't you worry you're not supporting the creator when you go for bargain deals, though?

Taking advantage of sales is best.

The problem is that in Denmark, we pretty much only get half of what is out there to begin with - if I had to buy directly from the source, the price would, more often than not, practically double thanks to the shipping fees, making it nearly impossible for me to actually ever buy ANYTHING for my colletion if I did it like that.

I do buy comic books and games more directly fro "actual" stores, but with movies, that would just go way up way too fast. And to be fair, I DO buy "legit" releases on the store shelves almost as often - once they've dropped in price. But it's simply a matter of the stuff I want flat out not being available or being far too expensive (or both) if I go for anything else.

On that note, I have purchased films from other DIY filmmakers in the past and paid for the occasional VImeo VOD and supported a Kickstarter project or two with what little bucks I could spare here and there, so I don't really feel I am not showing support at least somewhere.

Really just about anything. I've already made a fair few horror short films, and while I am definitely not out of interest in that, I wanna do other stuff too. The problem is I keep getting high-concept ideas for movies that'd be about 20 minutes long, and that's a lot of work. It's how they get you. First you look for that tiny bit of edge in certain rare situations, then the silver shells no longer seem to give you the hit you wish for, and then suddenly you're shooting with the contents of your real-world wallet all the time as your skills slowly deteriorate since you no longer need them as sharp.

It's possible to not do pay2win. In fact this game mostly avoids it... except in these gold shells. The gold tanks are generally balanced to be better than an unupgraded tank of their tier but worse than a fully upgraded one, for example - and while paying for premium time gives you buffs, they're just buffs to your earnings and not your ingame performance. Otherwise you just pay for cosmetics and convenience and stuff, and that works nicely... but the gold ammo, ahhhhhh. The gold ammo is bull

That is a whole new level of lazy pay to win. And I've actually seen ads. For this very game. You hire a guy and pay him money to kill things for you from your account and thus boost your stats.

It's just...

>>1652765

Stats testifying of your skill can though! See above.

Better performance means more silver and XP, yes. Silver is for buying stuff and XP is for unlocking stuff you can buy. But if you're willing to just drop real world money into this thing, you can just buy yourself however much silver you wish, making the cost of gold ammo a non-issue.

The grind can be pretty bad, but it starts being that way only around tier 7. Before then the advancement is quick and relatively painless, and with the plethora of events that are often around even silver isn't too much of an issue unless you have high-end things to spend it on.

I should be up in like... 7.75h. Hm. Really should consider sleeping soon, but you know. If I try now I'll just lie there awake and that will be that.

I don't think you need that to get 3 marks... you're really good.

You know.. I dun know why they even bother with different armour for different tanks.. just have a standard amour... a standard shell pen for regular and gold.. and just play around with rof and alpha.. and mobility, autoloaders, etc to differentiate the tanks.. cos as is it's just.. standard ammo.. nope.. gold.. yes.

Aww hon.. you're not gonna have hardly any sleep at all... and I'm gonna worry about you. Hmmmm.. have you ever tried melatonin? Or is it melanin?

That's what made me stop, really. Like, I can play grinding games like MMOs and stuff, but that's because they toss you a bone every now and then. Tanks? I got stomped on by higher tiers every game. And each time I upgraded or moved to a new tier the same thing happened all over again with even higher tiers and people with even more upgrades. Bleh. You're making me want to play tanks again, stahpit ;_;

>>1652769
Skills by the player. I never personally look at stats, heh. I remember one game I was revered as a god because my w/l was 60%, even though I was obviously one of the worst players in the game :P

Hm... I don't remember that, really. It's been a good long while.

I thought it was alright at tier 1-3, but that's when it got annoying for me.

Not like this is new. The Chinese were already farming gold in WoW way back when, producing the means for you to beat people up ingame easily if only you'd fork over some cash.

>>1652779

Hmm? The armor works fine in general as it is, it's just that the ability to simply go "lol have a 330mm penetration gold shell" screws up the dynamic when you stumble into an asshat with more cash than regard for crapping up the game for everyone.

Never tried any medicinal solution, no. Except beer. Which as you know delays my going to sleep. And I had to have one today because I accidentally opened it by closing a drawer in the fridge wrong, heh

>>1652780

Oh, 60% winrate here is for really, really, REALLY good players. Top 99.9th percentile. Not surprising given that they have to often carry teams of them and 14 drooling hurrdurrs and often have to manage to do it.

The advancement is lightning fast at those tiers. I could advance all the way to tier 6 with just what XP I had to spend to unlock all the MODULES in my tier 8 VK 45.02 (A), heh.

Tiers... Tier 1 and 2 are true nooblands, where even smurfs come from upon high seem to still be figuring out what this "keyboard" device is for. Tier 4 is the worst, but it has gems (Matilda). Tier 3 is meh, but it also has gems (Panzer 1c). Tiers 5 and 6 (and 7 if you feel like pushing there) are great though and honestly there's not much need to get past them if you just want to play sometimes, heh. Tier 8 is a very confused place where you're already playing with the very top but suck at it. Tier 9 is great if you can endure the murderous grind within it and tier 10 is simply the end of the line and honestly not all that it's cracked up to be from what I've seen of it so far.

You =/= Me. I'm used to MMOs that give you regular upgrades, not ones that delay it for hundreds of games filled to the brim with frustration.

I remember being sniped by the Matilda every single game I played against one (or two or three or four...). It wasn;t a matter of if, it was a matter of when. Typically within the first five minutes or so, but sometimes I'd make it to the eight minute mark before instantly exploding! I thought about late-game tanks when I first decided on which country I wanted to go with though. That was my first and most grave mistake.
Tier 10 is what?! D:

Personally, I'm surprised Steam doesn't have a demo of it. I remember years ago 3D Realms had a demo of both games, and trying them.

That would help test it out. Why Rockstar didn't do it is beyond me, again, Max Payne was originally published by Gathering of Developers.

Heh, I know a lot of people who do that. Good if you have a decent collection, but I probably have like.. three movies max.

On a side note, emulators are a lot more fun with a proper controller.

Your mom had a, let's see, a back problem? I hope the surgery gave her proper relief.

You saw the movie, that's great. I know you're enjoyed the Equesrtia Girls very much.

My life? I don't know where to begin. Times past, things change, but not too many things. I'm still enjoying playing the piano, have a love for poetry, photography. Things are looking up really. :)

Ouch, hope you find something in those three.

She had eye surgery. It took time, but she's better now.

Mmhmm, after learning it was only one town away too, saw it with my friend.

Nice, I'm glad things are looking up. :)

It appears that things are going more or less steady for the both of us.

I've been lurking around for a few days, haven't seen much of the old crowd I remember.

*Sigh*

Well, I guess that's just the nature of time, people come and go, just like everything else.

Yo guys, I've got a wee bit of a problem.

I have work in 5 and a half hours. I also have a physics exam which I need to do some cramming for. That's at 6:30 PM tomorrow.

I get out of work at noon, after which I'll definitely be cramming. But I also potentially have another shift starting at 3 (from which I can leave early) unless I manage to find someone to cover for me.

Should I stay up and study for a few hours and go to sleep after? Or should I call it a night and wake up more rested tomorrow, and less likely to turn my alarm off in my sleep (which sometimes happens when I try for the 2-3 hours mark) and miss work?

And how are you guys doing tonight?
