Watched Vaati's latest uploaded. DS2's remake is going to be sold separately after all.
On the other hand, some of the improvements he thinks we'll be seeing sound very interesting. So it might be worth it to pick up both copies after all.

Ah, well...
So the game has three skill trees: Might, Finesse, and Sorcery. Basically Strength, Agility, and Magic.
Every time you level up you can put points into those skill trees. Doing so is necessary to equip higher level pieces of armor. You can also equip Destinies based on how you've leveled.
So if, say, you have 11 points in Finesse, you can equip the Rank 2 Finesse Destiny, which provides benefits to ranged combat, dodging, and piercing damage.
And if you have 6 in Finesse and 6 in Sorcery, you can equip the Finesse/Sorcery Destiny, which provides bonuses to elemental damage and piercing damage.
So there's no hard class system, but there's a lot of room for customizing your build. There's sets of Destinies for all three skill trees, sets for each combination of two, and a set for combining all three equally.
I've been playing Finesse/Sorcery, mostly because at Rank 2 it replaces your dodge roll with a Blink/Teleport spell. I've always found that badass, heehee.
