Sure sure. I suppose it can then somewhat depend on kind and goal of innovation. That kind of claims follows quite easily from the assumption that innovation as essentially an equalising social force. In contrast, innovation can work as a system of competition, where innovating provides one with benefits allowing one to 'get ahead', so to speak.

Connecting to the position of those in positions of power, some may wish to engage in 'counter innovation', in order to maintain the particular social order in the face of improved conditions and power distribution for those in less privileged positions. I dunno though.

I'm in a chat with a group of friends on skype, and we decided because there were some mods that we would all install and play, so for the past two nights we've been spending a lot of time playing those mods and custom maps.

Like, there was a map that was Kokiri Forest and the Forest Temple from Ocarina of Time, and the Hive from Resident Evil, though we couldn't get that to work, so we just played through some ridiculously hard puzzle map.

Best way to spend any given day!

That game though, I swear it caters to well to my Nightmare Fetishist side, it's like the perfect counterpart to Neptunia and WH40K when it comes to gameplay and then flavour.

Last night as I was sleepy and didn't play well, I ended up having an entire party die to a the last of the tier 1 bosses I need to kill, I long to go down here for more and avenge those poor 4 lost souls I failed.

The game is turn-based. It's an interesting turn-based by comparison, but it's turn-based. There's field of movement and hitboxes so positioning is important, but if you don't like that, and don't care about the characters, then I don't suggest you buy it.

I loved it, but not everyone likes the same things, obviously.

Interesting, somehow wasn't expecting it to be combat based even if it's, y'know, console wars.

I'll definitely look into it more when the time comes but between what you guys have been posting it's piqued my interest.

Well, I'm going to go take a shower. Cheers.

Well, it has combat, but it's not entirely combat based. Most of the fun is in the characters and the interaction. There's a lot of meta humor and it's actually really, really fun.

Combat is a part of the game, even though it's fun and all that the real charm is the humour, references and girls just being overall lovable but quirky in their own ways.

Nep-Nep and Compa sound much better in Japanese if you ask me, but they might a bit too much for non-weebz, also Blanc when she is ANGRY.

Well. It's more bad luck in some regards.
Except this one map.

It was a three-part finale in the most terrifying way.
You first have to survive in an arena for five minutes with everything the game throws at you.
And then you have to cross a floor that will pseudo-randomly give way and force you to fall, while being chased by 4 tanks.
Then you have to carefully navigate a set of pipes and fall down while going fast enough to avoid being chased by the tanks.
Then you have to run to a safe zone while everything above is still chasing you.
Poor Vert tried to heal a little early and got trapped by the tanks and a swarm. Noire fell off the pipes and died.
Only Nep (myself) and Blanc made it out, but we lived.

In the context of RPG's, there are 3 that are the "standard" ones played. Those being Dark Heresy, Rogue Trader, and Black Crusade

In this case, RPG's do not refer to the other games, such as the base game, Horus Heresy edition, Battlefleet Gothic etc.

I'd pick one up if I were you, can usually find a quality tuner for about fifteen to twenty bucks. Maybe less depending on the circumstances. I like Seiko myself, but of course Korg is classic. Until then, I'd recommend doing it by ear - it's not easy at first but you'll still be more in tune than you are without.. heh. Not to mention it's a valuable skill to have.

Yeah.. okay, perspective. That's fair, I don't expect people to drop money into their craft if they're not 100% dedicated to it and seeing as I don't know how seriously you do or don't take music I can't really assume anything, but the online method is still available. Not to mention learning how to tune a guitar to itself, the best route is to use a reference to get your low E in tune and then tune the guitar to itself from there.

Hyper-sensitive to sound can make me unable to actually hear pitch in the same as as others. It's hard to explain. I technically shouldn't be playing in guitar, as I can't tell an out of tune (but in tune to itself) guitar from an in-tune one.

Thickest string is your low E, tune it using an online reference and then continue tuning the guitar by using the low E that you just tuned. Basically you want the next string to match the pitch of the string above it on the fifth fret.

Except the last string, which is supposed to match the fourth fret above it

Better?

Not exclusively, it's just one of the few subjects I can actually bring things to the table with so naturally being dismissed for that is a bit, well it's a dick move if I'm frank.

Seems pretty clear the majority of people here would rather see me disappear, considering my presence is almost always either ignored, dropped at random, or treated like I'm not allowed to discuss the things that interest me even if others bring it up first.

It's hard to explain how frustrating it is watching everyone participate in a community and essentially being told you're not allowed to enjoy the same pleasures when you dare try and fit in yourself, it takes it's toll man.

It's certainly a thing that happens here I'm afraid. Quite a few people mostly come here for certain people of their personal interest and tend to focus on them for the duration of their visit.
Isn't always the attitude, though. You can still find several people who are open to conversations and interactions with anyone who wish to carry them, but it's probably no denying the presence of cliques.

So people apparently want me to do streams again. Astra suggested I do Adventure Time, which would be fun. But I wanted people to have input for other shows they might wanna see, because, if I do adventure time, I'd probably have to do another show too since it's 11 minutes.

Kinda curious as to what they did in later series, especially since I read the original comics the whole franchise is based on a few years ago and they really murdered the original concept a lot in the cartoon.

For something slightly different, and spoken to no one in particular, I remember on another site there was this one user who practically broke all the written and unwritten rules. Everyone hated him and wanted him banned. In a rare instance, the other members were given a chance to suggest what should be done about him. Members stupid decided to use it to flame the user. Guess what the site staff decided to do? They decided to not punish him, and I took it as their was of "punishing" the other users. My reaction to the whole thing? [manically laughs internally]

yeesh. that's a lot longer than what I was looking for. I'm thinking that I'd do the stream in halves, one half being a short show, and the other being adventure time because it already has almost 200 episodes itself. That way we could see a good arc in one half of the stream, and enjoy the rambling of Adventure Time in the other. If you guys like Adventure Time enough, I could even maybe throw some experimental shows and an animated movie every so often in the first half.

I really appreciate around 70ish weather. Anything below it is kinda meh for me.

Well, we are here for you if you ever need to get something off your mind! You know that!

The traveling was fine! We did get a few hiccups with a van of our's losing it's breaks, but we got two cars to replace it, so we all got there fine.
We stayed at a church there! It was nice because we took so good care of it, the church waived the fee of renting it. Woo!
The volunteering things was fun! I got to work on a farm, in a food bank, a soup kitchen, and building houses! Lots of hard work with my hands.
I did make new friends! A ton of them! I got really close to the people I traveled in the van with, but some others were really nice to be around too.
I got to go to the beach and told jokes! Does that count?
I got two souvenirs! For both my parents. A necklace and an alligator paper weight.
I was not able to visit Matias' exact neighborhood. I was across the river from where he stayed. I did get to see the surroundings of it thought. Pretty nice!
And I did not.

As much as I would really like that, the time we have for it will all be spent. Only travelling up there with one vehicle, and most of the team is family.

If I can be honest here, I try to keep most of my Internet life and real life separated. Even with all the time I have already spent with counseling, I still don't trust how my parents would react if I tried to meet with someone online. Remember when I went to Bronycon last year and met with Bleeding Raindrops? I even kept that from the few people I went to Bronycon with.

It'd take a while and I don't have the patience right now. Probably won't for a long time. I'd need seven levels to get to what's recommended. They'd be about 7000 - 9000 souls each. That's a lot of souls.

And yes, I'm screwing up regular runs when Coco can beat the game without leveling up at all in four hours.

Some people are simply better at certain games than others.

Honestly though, I call it bad game design (and skill on your end) that you are even able to reach a point in the game where you are so underlevelled that you can't go on anymore.

The first room of Sen's Fortress can be easily worked with. The Arrow Trap can be set off to kill a single Snakeman, or at least heavily wound. A +10 weapon of choice with over 20 in the main damage stat will have tremendous power.
The Snakemen of Sen's can also be parried, so that makes your potential damage output even higher.
There's also luring. By walking carefully into the room, the one on the right will aggro long after the one on the left. Walking forward until the hiss, then walking back to the outside of the area will make it one-on-one.

Basically, with Dark Souls, leveling and extra power are a reward, but they are not the primary method by which you beat the game. Everything is about understanding and execution of mechanics. There's certainly a bit of an edge to leveling, but there are rather few things you really over-level.

This is part of why Dark Souls is notorious for killing you. You don't win by leveling, you win by "figuring out" the fight.

430 health. A Uchi at +10 has 180 base and B scaling. 20 Dex would increase AR by a bit more than that, giving you somewhere around 250-270 AR. Though, they have defences and this is reduced to 120-150 damage.
A backstab does 4x normal damage, meaning that a backstab will do 480-600 damage.

They definitely do not aggro at the same time. I've done it enough times when I kept dying to that room and the room after. The one on the right will not aggro if you walk on the right hand side of the path.

Walk slowly into Sen's. To the right of the trap, not setting it off. Slowly walk forward, near the pillar. Make sure you do not have line of sight with the one on the right. When the one on the left hisses, move slowly back to the trap and press it when the Snakeman enters.

Stunning is not something you can do with a dex weapon. You need to get the blocking down. It's about making your own opening.
With a Dex weapon, you'll need to abuse something I like to call "I-Frames". If you backstab an enemy, you don't take damage from anything. You can freely circle around one and backstab, and then use the opening the other one created when failing to hit you to backstab them.

They do not. Not all the time. In fact, not most of the time if memory serves.
You could use a bow to aggro one from further.
You could run through the room then Save and Quit when you're out of it.
You could master the riposte.
You could use a Greatshield to stunlock them.

A lot of dex is about dodging anyway. Instead of just blocking, block and circle. The thrust attack can be easily matadored without lowering the shield. The overhead stuff can be blocked rather well. Or parried, if you want to try it.

Actually, you're wrong there.
First, you have thrusting damage. If they're attacking and you hit them with an arrow, you get extra damage from counter hits.
Second, you have headshots. You can break Artorias out of his buffing with a single arrow.
