>>1853855 Apparently Zebulon Pike, an ancestor of like 10 generations ago, is the person who discovered Pike's Peak. Trufax.
>>1853856 This is technically my second time seeing the Rockies, although the first time we went through the north end instead of the south and I was less than a year old, so it doesn't count. God, seeing that after about 700 miles of flat farmland was eye candy.
>>1853858 I might. I might be making more stops than I'd originally intended, because this is prettier than even I had imagined.
>>1853859 And I'm in Colorado Springs to see a friend now, I'm gonna be driving up through Denver and then westward to SLC, so I'm going to be able to see the length of them. I planned this trip right.
>>1853860 I would have said more yesterday but the hotel internet there was godawful. I might stay here a day or two though.
>>1853863 Those are on my list, too. I grew up in the Appalachians, which are nice, but nothing compared to the Rockies, and even less to the Andes, Alps, or Himalayas. Still, like I said, it's a sight for sore eyes after nearly two days of indistinguishable flat farmland.
