/int/ has a lot more potential than just having national threads, and so, we've decided to have some fun threads with fun topics here for a couple of days. I have some things planned to make /int/ feel like a small summer tivoli on a warm and sunny day.

The topics will be changed about once a day or something like that, with no topic in the OP so that there won't be too much responses to the opening topic when a later topic is running (The opening topic will instead be announced in the first response).

Okay? Let's have fun, like Pinkie herself would have done!

Okay, are you able to do it tomorrow or in one of the upcoming days? I had the "Write a speech about a pony in your third language" as an alternate back-up topic for tomorrow just in case there wouldn't be any streaming.

(Edit: Completely managed to forget the point of the topic, so let's assume she's at a beach somewhere along the Norwegian coast.)
Ode to Celestia

Plip plop
Celestia swimming in the river flop
Flop flop
The river is full of gravel and sand
Sand, so much sand
And sand
And gravel
It spoils her swimming vacation
So much hope
And so little result

Would tomorrow at 17:00 be a good time, or should we do it another day for reasons explained in the paragraph below? I've got lots of time to spare tomorrow (Although I won't be commenting much on the stream itself; if I have any comments, I'll post them in the Ponychan thread, like I do with /oat/'s fanfic readings) to watch it.

The original plan was to change topic once a day, keeping it going for about a week, and then hand the thread over to somepony else with fresh ideas. So does anyone have any ideas for how often the topic should be changed?

>>162578
The seaponies were swimming calmly in the North Sea. Swimming carelessly, singing and playing together, living the life below the sea. Hypnotically wiggling their tails so that everyone forgets the entire point of this very story. Including the writer himself. The end.

It does sound good with every third day in theory, but I remember that yesterday's topic simply went bust after a few hours, with no activity for about sixteen hours. I'll see how it goes through the night and early morning and then we'll take it from there (Although I doubt I'll change the topic tomorrow, at least).

However, I usually tend to like the Danish Fluttershy better (keyword: usually).

Also, I was singing along to the Norwegian Sweetie Belle.

And I really hope that pistol shot during Volume 3 Clip #5 wasn't actually in the dub.

Will there be many bonus videos after the stream, or is it only a short aftershow?

Was alright, I wonder how he put together the fails. With that much need of whistleblowers, unless he speaks all the languages, you're destined to have a lot beneath your radar.
There are e.g. much more infamous transfailtions than "Schönheitsflecken" in German. I found that one of the better original translations.
Oh and the Ukrainian version was still missin', so we bound to see more fail videos.

Don't you wonder, my streams seldom attract more than 2.

For his Fails videos from Volume 2 and onwards, he mostly relied on people who were writing fail suggestions on the comments of the YouTube videos. You find an error in a dub, you write about in the comments if it's big enough, and then he may consider it for an upcoming video.

The Ukrainian dub debuted after the release of Volume 5, and considering their "songs", I have a strong feeling that they'll end up somewhere on the upper portion of Volume 6.

There are some medium-sized errors out there that he may not know about. If one choose to fully believe every single line of dialogue that has been dealt in the Scandinavian dubs, they have telephones, electric tools and pay cards in Equestria. Additionally, the Norwegian dub had Christmas, the Danish dub introduced western movies as early as Applebuck Season, and the Swedish dub had Opel and computers.

Next topic: Write a touching and eloquent speech about one of your favourite ponies... in your third language, with no dictonaries or spellchecks allowed, which may lead to odd results. The nature of the topic means that most posters won't understand each other, which was something I didn't really think through, but it'll still be interesting.

I'll start with a speech about Pinkie Pie. In Danish.

Interesting method. Let's see how it would end up if I took my earlier speech and ran it through Google Translate:

It has been some years since I first stødede at you through YouTube Poop videos and the Norwegian dub of FiM. You were the one who always acted as the fun, hyperactive ponni who made my evenings and eftermiddager for something cool. And even in times where you rotede you into scary barnepas and bad annoying songs, I kept your old personality Inni me. It took some month with despair before Too Many Pinkie Pies dug up from the grave, and now you're not in the grave again.

Next topic, and most likely my last: In an attempt to borrow a quick game from /oat/ and making it fit here, here's what I've got:

There shall be made a new dub of FiM in your language regardless of the quality of the old one.
The last local guy you watched a video of on YouTube, plays the voice of Spike.
The last local woman you saw an interview with, plays the voice of Twilight Sparkle.
The last telly channel you watched for more than 15 minutes consistently will air the dub.
The voice acting is recorded in the break room of the last store you visited.

How great/doomed will it end up?

Well, you gave it a nice shot, Mars. But, I'm afraid that /int/ is dead for good. Even the persistent Germans seem to have lost their activity.

I guess it's a sign that pony is getting old. The long hiatus to s4 and the whole alicorn drama didn't help either.

Well, I'm now getting a feeling that /int/ is in an unrecoverably troubled situation; but while I don't think /int/ is dead just yet, I think it's going to be a slow demise, and that it'll be at the very least four months before it'll reach the levels that ended up deleting /phoenix/. I've been spotting signs of a comeback in the Scandinavian thread, and a small possibility in the Canadian, but most of the big ones has dramatically decreased, and the smaller nationalities are all but gone.

Ponies are still going strong, and while the hiatus may cause problems after a while, the alicorn situation doesn't seem like a dealbreaker to most. /oat/ regularly complain within themselves about being dead, but they have considerably more things going on than /int/ have.

I got to know a small handful of people thanks to /int/, particularly Pantless Ninja, Manatee and AustroSpike. But the handful of friends I've gotten on /oat/ unfortunately surpasses most of the aforementioned ones. I will always remember /int/ as a pretty cool place, but while we can (in lack of a better metaphor) call the funeral company, it isn't yet time to say "Rip in peace".

Well, I don't have any video recording or a microphone to record anything with, but I can try to post some lyrics:

I'll start with the lyrics to the Danish You Gotta Share:
Vi er lidt forskellige
Men mindre end du tror
Lad os alle hjælpes
Ad lige her hvor vi bor

Jo, sagen den er enkelt
Det er slut med al skænderi
For et slagsmål gør dig muggen
Du skal bare klappe i

Drop at spille sej
Hey, det bli'r en leg
For jeg tænker på dig
Kom jeg viser dig vej

Ja, tænk på mig
Og tænk på dig
Så bli'r det hele godt
Ja, tænk på mig
Og tænk på dig og
Så løser vi det flot.

Jeg bør måske lige nævne
Vi er alle vegatarer
Vi spiser nemlig hø
Ka' det få jer til at tø?

Så tænk på mig
Så tænk på dig
For så bli'r det så godt
Og så løser vi det så flot!

Keep in mind that the sounds and letters may not be quite as you know them, which was why I selected this.

(A bit of a late reply, since I went to watch Wreck-It Ralph in the cinemas this afternoon)

The accent, consonants and vocals were surprisingly accurate and vivid... if the language in question had been Norwegian. You sounded exactly like a normal Norwegian man who read aloud a Danish speech as if it was in Norwegian all along. I'll give you a heap of bonus points for that.

I remember back in the days before I got a grasp of the Danish language, when I often heard 99 Luftballons and couldn't figure out if it was Dutch, German or Danish. Back then (I was about 11 at the time), I landed on Danish. It took me several years before I realised that it was, in fact, German.

I got into the show in early September 2011, coinciding with a preview of the then-upcoming Norwegian FiM dub. So it's been a while.

It's been a bit on and off with the show for me (Series 2 was very hit-and-miss for me, and when it missed, it missed big time), but I've been on Ponychan continueously since mid-November 2011, and never having taken a break from the site for more than four days. I'm not much of a social guy, and the little social interaction I need outside of my nearest family and a few friends, is sustained through Ponychan.

I hear you, it's the same for me. Imo s1 was when the show was at its best, focusing on character development and taking a slower pace, making it a unique show. S2 and s3 just feel like an average cartoon that can be entertaining every now and then, but isn't anything special or worth watching again.
Not being a Faust fanatic here, I just liked the direction they took in s1 better.

>So that guy who told me "Norwegian reads like it looks, Danish looks quite the same, but reads very different" had a point.
Yes, it's exactly like that. Any Norwegian can read a Danish newspaper without problems, but listening to most Danes require some solid understanding of the sounds. Compared to Norwegian, all the Danish vocals sounds like they've been switched around at random, and the consonants are either blurred, mute or very soft.

>I'mma go listen to the actual song.
Here's the song if you need some help finding it (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o5vvcHiJ2Ao).

>I never got how that became popular internationally.
It was the 80's. Everyone either had horrid mullet hair or extremely tight jeans. People did things they shouldn't, and were most likely confused by the entire feel of the era, so there were synthesiser songs absolutely everywhere.

>>163036
I do indeed like Series 1 more, and I've watched every episode at least five times, and a few of them as many as forty, since I had them on my iPod while I was training at a gym.

Series 2 mostly messed with practically everyone and everything as far as I can tell: The introduction of baby ponies deserves special negative mention from me (The less said about my opinions on Baby Cakes, the better. Trust me.), but also how everypony acted like they'd lost 40 IQ in A Canterlot Wedding Part 1, and how Pinkie's character (as had been built up in Series 1) did a 180 turnaround on a pence with the song from A Friend In Deed, were things I'd rather want to forget.
