Surrey is a pretty nice place and it's gotten much nicer recently. I lived in South Surrey near White Rock so it could get a little too boring sometimes, but can't really complain when you have that wonderful beach right at your doorsteps.

hahaha sorry for the late reply, I guess I don't come to int very much.

I think it would be cool if the vancouver bronies met up, but I think there are only 3 or 4 of them here and, for some reason, I see bronies as being shy people. in that california thread with over 250 replies where all the cali-bronies got together, I think only about 5 of them actually met up.

ah well, it's really cool to know there are other bronies near me, maybe we'll meet up someday.

oh man, those riots were really terrible.. I heard that some of the rioters are getting arrested, though, so at least that's good. there's a website online where people are posting pictures they took at the riots, and people can go there and see if they recognize anyone.

I heard one story about an employer who saw a picture of 2 of his employees, and fired them both the next day. I thought that was cool.

Well, I put in my first shift at my store since the riots yesterday. My god...you'd think that it never happened. Apparently head office sent out a small army of ponies to clean it all up and make it look like brand new. It's both amazing and sad when you think about. Somehow, selling customers the same old junk, taking the same old returns, and hearing the same old complaints just doesn't feel right only 2 days after the riots that tore the city a new one.

Dunno what I was expecting, I mean, the show must go on, right? Guess...I just would have liked to see ponies taking a break for once, you know?

It wasn't just plywood. They've named it. It's called the Great Wall of Vancouver, and I went there on my break Thursday. It's...indescribable...just how it felt. It's like this positive energy just emanating from the site. People did more than write words, they strung up a series of small cloth pictures, taped up poems, put up pictures of the true fans, and the true pricks. I nearly forgot myself there, just looking at it all.

And now, to hear it's going to be preserved...it's just as amazing.

West Coast Con, eh? That would be awesome! A year should be a perfect amount of time to hammer out my next summer's schedule so I can attend.
And really? A Newfoundland Brony Facebook page? Could you please post a link to 'er? I searched for it, but all I got were pages for Brownies, Newfoundland Grannies, and some guy named Al Broniees :/

Dang, and here I thought there were more of us. I'd even settle for seeing a Calgarian brony post. Man, if only more people looked at boards besides /oat/ and /pony/, I'd bet there'd be a lot more posts in this thread.

Indeed. You see, It's all because of the massive vortex of radioactive ponyton particles swirling about in Vancouver. At first we all though it was another bout of the dreaded happiness virus...so tragically misnamed...but then we realized that the ponytons had massed and formed their own strain of the virus: friendship.

Oh, don't worry, it's completely harmless. As harmless as showering at a nuclear power plant on Jupiter. Oh wait...that doesn't sound very safe at all.

Well then GOOD NEWS EVERYPONY! This is the perfect opportunity to test out my latest experiment!

I'm an American who wishes to visit British Columbia, but my only concern is being mistreated because of my nationality (my main reason for choosing BC over Quebec, that and I have relatives in Washington state). Thus I ask, would I be shunned more by a Vancouverite or a Victorian? Also, when I do decide to visit, would anypony want to partake in some international revelry involving Molson, LaBatt, and a sampling of American Microbrews?

PS: Yes, believe it or not, there is such a thing as a good American beer. It just has to be made by some stoners in Boulder, CO.

Assuming people from Quebec mistreat Americans and asssuming that Labatt and Molson make "good" beer. :D

Labatt and Molson is pretty much the same as big breweries in the US. Heck, Molson is now owned by Coors. For as much as I know, good beers are from microbreweries and such.

Just my 2 cents. :P

Yankee Brony here. You could chalk it up to my visiting 4chan's /int/ board (a board for international discussion, yet everyone obsesses over just one nation they just don't like) and the idea that the only good beers made on Earth are those brewed without the borders of the United States.

PS: This dude, confirmed for most badass Canadian.

There's a reason why we hold these stereotypes: because they're all true you fat idiot. I've been to "Murika" once. I visited your Detroit and it's a diseased, polluted wasteland. Also I don't need to try your pitiful attempt at making a "good" beer because you've never had one. Besides, yours is a nation of murderers, rapists, and retards so we don't want you or your overfed brethren in our country. Just stay home in your trailer and save your money for your piss water and overpriced medicine you bloated, racist, retard.

Fine, let me give more then.

I have been around a good part of Eastern Canada (and other countries, but that's irrelevant), from Toronto to Halifax, and I can say without a doubt that Montreal is the best place around these parts (in my eyes, at least). Being a major centre, the city is always teeming with activities; it hardly goes a week without some sort of festival.
If that's not your thing, then surely the city's many faces will reel you in. You can't find a more multicultural city around these parts. You have not only a combination of French and English culture, but also the ones from all the other immigrants who call Montreal their home.

How's that for publicity?

But then again, Questing Dashie is right: You make the final decision and you will be the one living with it.

I suppose I missed something, then.
From what I remember in New York, you're pretty much cramped up no matter where you go. At least everything is centred downtown. Scoot away from that (not the suburbs, but on the shores of the island) and you get peaceful and quiet neighbourhoods.

Of course, I'm pretty biased (if you hadn't noticed yet)...

A solid plus that shouldn't make up too much of your decision. Moving is a big deal. You don't move to a person, you move to a place. You must love the place itself.

I think you should visit both, perhaps in a nation-wide trip, and then see which you enjoy the most before you make such a big decision.
