I honestly don't know what that is, but I did see important dev folk talking about it, so I'm sure we're exploiting the hell out of the weakness already I wouldn't worry abot it too much.

The mods !!Rarity and !!Sweetie have charged me with trollbaiting, making inflammatory comments, bullying, trying to start mudfests, and a few other things I forget. The penalty, apparently, is permaban from /pony/, should I be found guilty.

I maintain that none of this happened, and that the charges are faulty. After repeatedly asking for evidence, both mods repeatedly refused to offer any.

What actually happened is that I saw a very regular and vitriolic habit among /pony/ posters to shit on people who enjoy one specific part of FiM, claiming that they're supporting the ruination of the show. Considering how caustic the habit seemed to the atmosphere of /pony/ and the lack of discussion on the board as of late, I went in and told them that to someone who has differing opinions, they could just as easily see this person as supporting the ruination of the show, and that their opinions are no more valid than one who thinks such awful things about them. Hoping to spark a discussion on the praises and flaws of each part of the show, I was met instead with a familiar vitriol, along with amusingly ironic claims that I was holding my opinion (which they'd assigned to me) as sacrosanct, shitting on theirs, and spreading hate.
Afterwards, I made a point to seek out each time afterward that they attacked these other people, and point out exactly what I had before. This happened maybe five times before the mods apparently came to believe that I was trolling, dramabaiting, and overall being a dick. They never once spoke against the posters who routinely shat on others for their opinions. Also there never did get to be any discussion on /pony/.

So c'mon mods, show me what you got. Tell me where I broke the rules, justify each of your charges, and explain why I'm the bad guy here. If you can't, I'll just have to assume that this is yet another instance of gullible, capricious mods trying to silence innocent posters with fabricated charges and threats of permaban. As a respectable member of the community, I do demand something of a high standard of decorum among mods, and ban threats like this are the most important time to be rational and reasonabl

Be nice if the mods actually came down on some of the actually toxic posters instead of just the vocal critics.

Seriously, the mods come down on dulset, but let people like geldon and nostalgiaschmaltz, who insult their fellow posters far more often than dulset has, run wild. The mods are acting more like bouncers letting their friends get away with anything rather than act like harbingers of any moral or even rule-based authority. Some professionalism on the part of the mods could really do us all some good.

>> No. 162100 ID: da4653
Reporting doesn't work and we all know it. I remember a time titanium dragon told people with a certain opinion to kill themselves, the post was reviewed, and given the A-OK. Until the mods abide by a stricter standard of conduct and follow a more orderly and stringent set of rules, reporting will do nothing if you're on the mod's friend list.

From now on, Orange will be serving the site in his preferred role as a dev.

This past year has been insane for me in real life. I apologize for never being around. In the coming days, I will be working on a plan to reorganize the site's administration so that my frequent and prolonged absences will not stand in the way of the site moving forward. (Hopefully at some point my absences will be less frequent and prolonged, too.) I will post more details once I have everything worked out.

So half the time the weird Pokemon sex threads on /oat/ are deleted or moved. The other half, things like this guy talking about how he wants to touch a pokemon's dick are allowed to just chill out on the board.

What is the actual policy here, if someone could tell me? Because we had a gigantic thread pertaining to this subject awhile back and nothing came of it. It would be nice to get an update!

I've encountered this issue multiple times and am in firm belief that it's caused by a webkit bug. The event name that is triggered is called 'mouseenter', which was founded by Microsoft, while mainstream webkit (at the time) was run by Apple. Apple Webkit was the very last of the main browsers to adopt the specification and kind of did so haphazardly. Both Firefox and Internet Explorer have the implementation correct but webkit very likely still has issues.

That being said, the only way I know to fix the bug, is to restart your computer for some reason. If that doesn't work, then unfortunately you're probably out of luck.

Hello /meta/

As I have been around for about over a year, I've witnessed an increasing amount of flamewars and such compared to last year. The drama has increased - specifically on /oat/ - for a while now. I want to avoid another Bagsgate, but I believe the community is dying off. If ponychan doesn't change its behavior, this may spell the end of this site.

A new person (or someone pretending to be a new person) joins this site periodically. Sometimes they might even post an OC. However, sometimes, they might give off an impression (or an OC) that people don't like and that prompts others to harass that new person. Even if that new person was trying to be kind and friendly, people will endlessly harass that person. It's not cool, it's not nice, it's just being an asshole.

Another thought is that when people are banned, there is a lack of people taking responsibility for their actions and instead blaming the banning moderator and/or the person they were in a flamewar with. Furthermore, many times I've witnessed people starting shit with each other and then a crowd always side with one user to lift pitchforks against another, which devolves into one single hivemind. For example, when someone in an /oat/ thread says something of whatever controversy, everyone is so quick to lift the finger at that person when they don't even realize the thoughts/feelings of that other person and instead jump in and hound on that person. I've become a frequent redditor since June 2014, and it's something I've often experienced on /r/dota2, where someone says something unpopular and it quickly delves into a flamewar with all against one. I don't need to mention any names since you guys should already know who I'm referring to.

Note: I am not blaming mods. I realize that even if you have the best mods ever, if your general population is full of bullshit, then the community will suck. Source: Bungie forums.

tl;dr: /oat/ community is fucking trash, no one wants to acc

Almost not a week passes without talk of merging /chat/, or a thread about doing things to /oat/.

Yet, what about some of these other boards? i understand /good/ is in limbo, a result of a failed effort to do community outreach.

But i think we all need to take a good hard look at /collab/, /fic/, /art/, /g/, /dis/, /int/, /vinyl/, /merch/, and even /ooc/.

at this point, none of these boards are even as active as /chat/ is, yet /chat/ is always at the forefront of our merger discussions.

If inactivity and redundancy truly is the problem, should we not consider merging these first before targeting bigger boards? At least /chat/ gets a number of threads and over a hundred posts a week...

/ooc/ might be a separate topic altogether, but roleplaying has certainly slowed to the point where we could merge the ooc threads with the general /rp/ (with their consent, of course).

The draw thing on /berry/ doesn't work, it requires something in the server side, likely the actual program itself.
