i actually really like this idea, especially the pony saturdays
just have a thread for suggestions here in /poop/ and cycle through the good ones
of course, not every one of them would be /good/ but it could be nice

if we wanted some interaction between boards, i wonder what would happen if we let /rp/, /gala/, or /pony/ come up with some topics for /oat/ or /chat/?

As for the pony stuff, over here, that is not a bad idea at all. It's like you were saying, if you want to see pony stuff on /oat/, post it. Post it and people will probably jump into the thread. The question here is "What constitutes 'pony stuff'?" What sort of threads do you actually want to see? And how would these theme days work out?

I'm down for inspiring more pony content. Though I have to ask what exactly these pony days would entail.

And I don't think restricting /chat/ to one topic for the week would really do anything but harm to the board, unless you mean it would just be a general suggestion, in which case I don't really see the purpose of it considering /chat/s userbase size.

a pony day would be a sticky that says "TODAY IS RAINBOW DASH DAY!" maybe with a really silly banner, or some music, or like a forced skin (Which you can change once you see it)

phoenix was horrible. it was dead mostly and stuck around for an embarrassingly long time, and in its worst moments it ate up threads from other boards

Well, yeah, technically, if you want to look at it in a realistic way that makes sense.

It was kind of a neat idea, but it was always dead, which really defeated the purpose. Too often something would come up that nearly no one could really comment on, so...

Like Moony said, though, that's not actually his idea. He just wants to post threads in places. Which should have the intended effect of increasing posts. I mean...can't really argue that one. Posting stuff makes posts.

The only question is if anyone can think of something super cool that makes a lot of posts rather than just a few posts. Though over time it'd probably get more posts anyway.

You can talk about Winter Wrap Up, and we had a big party about it, but nopony had to if they didn't want to. It was just something we could all rally around and enjoy

Well, despite my friend's behavior in this thread, I would like to point out my views on Moony's idea.

I think it's good for /oat/. It mixes things up and keeps it interesting. I think it would be a fun little thing to do for this board.

I, personally, like the idea. I mean, what's the worst that could happen? It doesn't work? Big whup. Best case, it works, it gets people talking, and it adds a fun twist to the board. Worst case? It doesn't work, and things go back to how they were.
