Could you tell your friend that he's not allowed to use his admin powers to declare which opinions about the show are right and which ones are verboten? He literally just popped into a discussion thread last night to tell me my opinion is wrong and if I continue expressing it I'll be banned.

I personally found /pony/ way too eager to have mods clean up people who argue about "stupid things".

I can agree with Moony here, but I can also imagine Fnolio looking at the report list and finding all of Dulset's posts there reported because of harassment or some stupid shit, forcing fenolio or any mod to move in and tell Dulset to stop. Because that's how /pony/ works.

Please point to the part of my post that says "dulset your opinion is shit.", because all i can see in it is criticism about ignoring discussion, yet all three of you apparently see something different.
There is also the whole question of whether you all realise this is not an isolated incident.
Anyone who regularly has a discussion with dulset would be able to tell you how frequently he ignores or dismisses parts of a discussion just because it's based on something not explicitly stated.
Please get off the "Fen is being mean" wagon and ask yourselves when I have ever banned or warned a person for having a terrible opinion.
Two of you should know me better than that.

Fen, I don't think you banned him because you're mean. And the last thing I want is you to think I'm attacking you.

It's not about you being cruel, and I'm not jumping on a bandwagon. I know dealing with /pony/ can be stressful, and that Dulset's been reported constantly, but I was only arguing that his opinions and logic (even if they bother people) might not warrant a banning in the future.

Maybe I could ask for more clarification, if that's okay?

I realize you're doing your best, and I only want to be as fair as possible.

Yeah, so I want to ask for clarification when I can. I trust both Fen and Dulset, so there's got to be an answer here somewhere.

Well, not core opinions but the logic build.
I do think people tend to maybe neglect what the exact reasoning is behind the posts and might consider posts "stupid" as a result of that.

At any rate, I'd rather see this filed away as something that should just be ignored by the public, instead of handled with a ban. Just because people don't like the conclusions you are drawing from things, doesn't mean that they break site rules.
Now, for personal attacks and such, these are much dire things to be watched over by mods. They can technically also be ignored, but they're much less dependent on the logic a person wants to apply and more about universally un-courteous things.

you will note, i didn't say you did go after him for his opinions, but that the mod message was phrased in a way where it looked like it was.

it wasn't worth bringing up his opinions at all, that's all i meant. your actions were justified, but not clearly interpreted.

you can't seriously even call that 'logic' at all, can you? and they aren't even opinions. it's just outright contrarian nonsense for it's own sake. it's like a mutated branch of Manley methodology.
frankly I'd be all for just letting people say whatever short of seriously divergent off-topic or deliberate 'kill yourselves', and let people deal with these kinds of people in their own special imageboard way, but then we'd have bleeding hearts and manchildren crying about cyberbullying and wanting their modnannies to come change their diapers.

Certainly.

>"If it's not explicitly stated i am going to ignore it or say it's wrong."
>You are trying to pretend that you dont see such obvious things as flutterhulk being an expy of The Hulk when you likely have a wealth of outside experience to draw upon in comparison to the child.
>Oh, and because it's more than warranted by this point given how often you tend to do this.
>[Official mod warning]
>Seriously, stop it. I know for a fact that you're smarter than you seem like when you get into an argument like this.

Is that enough? You are in no uncertain terms stating that my opinion, that accepting claims about canon based on things that aren't canon, is not welcome and should be ridiculed with a mod tag.

And no one sees the irony in claiming that
>"it's not rational to make assumptions about Saddlerager based solely on The Hulk. Saying that she obviously can repel lasers because the Hulk can is the same as saying that she's obviously powered by gamma radiation because the Hulk is, or that she obviously has two completely separate personae like the Hulk does."
is the logic of a ten year old.

Even if Fen were not attacking Dulset based on his opinions and logic, it was very much worded that way. All I want as of now is clarification, and I'm fairly certain that is something Dulset wants as well.

Aside from a second opinion, as his OP states.

Fair would be someone saying something flat out retarded as dulset usually does and everyone being able to call them out for being willfuly retarded. As it is, since people can't donthat or they'll be banned, why allow someone to play the trolling retard card in the first place.
Even the very act of making this a thread - directed at a specific staff member - insteaf of directly contacting that stagf member - is for no other purpose than delicious attention and strife, and dulset, like manley, is only here because of a dumb ownership override of the staffs decisions, which has put the staffs balls in a vice.

You kidding? That actually happens quite often. You can still see multiple threads full of it. In fact, I've never seen someone get banned for lambasting me. I mean you just did, do you think you'll be banned? You won't.

If you consider this a lambasting (for making a meta thread designed to try to shame a staffer and get attention for yourself and have an argument) I can't imagine how you'd handle an actual conflict, online or IRL.

The problem is that he is not stupid, a troll, or "retarded". His point is clear and understandable, however you might disagree with it, and devaluing him based on it is the opposite of "fair".

Oh, he's not stupid. He's fairly clever. That's not the issue. He is, however, adept at acting retarded and trolling in the sense of deliberate contention for the sake of attention and argument. And he's been doing it for *over three years.* Seriously this has been going on for over three years. He's changed as a person absolutely zero. Improved his personaliy none. Learned nothing in terms of adapting to responses. And apparently developed no other hobbies but playing the role of capricious made up cartoon horse girl in three years of real life time. Its like... fuckin' go outside already. This shtick was old two and a half years ago. I am not shutting down anyone or White Knighting anyone.

And you are again devaluing his points because you disagree with them. His posting habits and views have not changed? Yes, of course, because he still feels the same way he always has.

And it is common practice to "shut down" an argument, intentionally or not, by claiming the person you disagree with is a troll. Dulset is not a troll, and paying attention to his statements reveals that pretty clearly.

This isn't some play-acting, it is legitimately his opinion on things, and no matter how stupid you think that opinion is, it is not right or fair to claim he is being insincere.

>>162994

I talk to Dulset frequently, and I would rather argue that you don't know him, or are unwilling to because you disagree with him. The fact that he is stubborn in his opinions does not make him a troll.

I am being sincere and transparent in my actions and words, and unless you have some proof that I am not, I would ask that you stop attacking my character.

im sorry i must have fallen into some sort of crack in time and ended up in an alternate reality where you don't white knight everyone from manley to swiper to tossf to dulset regardless of what they did to deserve what people are giving them

dulset actively makes conversation worse around him and he does it in a very persistent manner. there was a good reason why he wasn't allowed to post on /pony/ for a long time and it wasn't the one that he continued to harp on about after the fact until he was unbanned for whatever reason

What Dulset wants is clarification and another opinion from a member of the staff who is capable of communicating with !!Shining.

That is all he has stated and you have no reason to believe otherwise.

Elaborate? All I've seen is other individuals who disagree with his logic/opinions report him because they are infuriated with his logic/opinions.

I could argue that you " make conversation worse around you and in a very persistent manner" with your aggressive insults, as well, and cite many examples.
