Everypony who says the game is 'super hard' or 'really difficult' or anything is full of shit.

The game isn't hard, it just punishes you for going blindly like a fucking retard. Other than one or two bosses which are more frustrating than anything, the game's fairly easy as long as you're careful and methodical.

I think it's a litmus test for morons though, because you find people who genuinely can't do anything but run headfirst into a problem and eat shit and whine. Don't be that person.

That's not to say you won't die, but you should recognize your deaths are your own fault and because of your actions. And you probably will feel stupid about some of them.

Go for the knight class.
Two handing your weapon does more damage and usually helps more for bosses.
Upgrade your weapons when you can.
The zombie merchant in undead burg carries a sword if you kill him for it. You'll need 14 strength and 14 dex if you want to wield it properly.
Always check your corners.
Never panic roll. If you're surrounded, do your best to break out by attacking, they don't get out of your way when you roll into them.
Practice parrying. It becomes easy after awhile and it'll help you take out enemies quickly.

It's funny how Dark Souls is basically That Kid the game. It's full of all kinds of hidden secrets that are so ridiculous you would never find them on your own.

The DLC area is especially convoluted, and I have no idea how anypony first found the Darkwraith covenant.

Have fun being backstabbed from the side and front if you are playing the original Dark Souls.

And yes what some of the others said, its not that the Souls games are hard, they just punish you for playing like a retard. That isnt to say there isnt a "few" completely unfair and badly programmed deaths, and glitches like falling through scenery or off platforms you were blatently on, or getting stuck in objects, or unable to walk over a 10cm high rock on the floor, you know, something that should have died out in gaming back in the 80's, or certain weapons that people that use that literally stun lock you over and over, certain spells that one shot you, bosses with cheap attacks that etc etc... i could go on.

Dark Souls gameplay is incredibly overated and they should never score as high as they get, HOWEVER ... the atmosphere is top notch and the sense of achievement when you progress is satisfying.
