STRAIGHT FROM THE MOUTH OF HACK I GIVE YOU THE GREAT AND POWERFUL ARCHIVER!!!

The Great And Powerful Archiver is a light-weight Pony downloading platform developed by Guardian.
(http://www.mediafire.com/TGAPA) - There is a README.txt that I urge you to read if you cannot figure out how to use his program.

Given only the URL of the thread that you want the pictures from, and the name of a folder (or path), it will download all of the images in full.

==== TGAPA ====
• A fully portable, standalone program that is extremely low on Memory usage.
• 26 Themes to choose from.
• Removes duplicate files
• Only 6 MB!
• Stable.

Memory usage on all threads: 30-75MB
This means that you can use his program on really low-end computers that you find in schools.

==== Alternatives ====
• DownThemAll - An excellent Firefox addon, I have it installed myself. From what I've gathered, because people haven't gone into great detail on how to download all of the images with it, you press the "Expand All Images" link in the thread page. After you have done that, you open up the addon and click on the "Pictures and Media" tab and hit select all images, and download.

Memory usage on large threads: 700MB+ (Yeah, it actually crashed a computer that I was working on once.)
Cache flooding: it will load all of those images into the cache database, which is both good and bad in that it will load the images quickly if you view them multiple times in-browser (as in, you go to that image by itself on the web-page often.) However it has the drawback of making your cache-file obscenely large.

• File -> Save As - An easy enough solution with similar results as DownThemAll. It is going to eat a lot of RAM and it is going to inflate your cache-file.

Memory usage on large threads: 700MB+

FYI, I've had two troubles with the program.
First, towards the start of threads, some pictures only download partially, cutting off mid-way through the image. Only seems to happen toward the early images in a thread and more so for longer threads.
Second, it crashes when I try http://www.ponychan.net/chan/pic/res/668952.html.

Still, an awesome and very helpful program!

With firefox, you don't need to expand all the images in the thread to download them all, just disable everything in the Pictures and Media tab, since it already has the links to the full size pictures selected, then just run it.

Using Url Filename as Setting it gives me names like 132646849489.jpg.jpg (double file ending)
>can be fixed easily with ant Renamer

Also it would be nice to detect non existant pictures. It sometimes happens that pictures are not uploaded or already deleted but still linked and downloading that gives me a 0 byte file and an error message when I try to open it.
>deleting 0 byte files myself now

Also thanks to the creator. ;)

Very nice program. I've been using it for a bit, and I enjoy it, especially due to its simplicity and lack of nonsense.

I think we need to start cataloging the secrets, though. I've been way too curious. Has anypony discovered anything? Do we have any leads?

So far, here's what has been found:

-Scootaloo theme. A screenshot is in the OP, but we don't as of yet know how to get there.

-HP text. Mentioned by >>874491, screenshot in >>874493. Can anypony else with an HP computer confirm that this happens on their computer?

We know that there are at least 5 secret themes.

We can do this.
>> No. 944577
>>944575
Okay, I have found out how to get to the Scootaloo theme. In Settings, in the Theme box, you can type things, instead of selecting them in the drop-down menu. Typing "Scootaloo" yeilds a Scootaloo theme.
