 Leaked Sony emails on MLP movieRemember that "The Interview" fiasco last year? And how North Korea supposedly hacked Sony and leaked those emails?Well, wikileaks has a site now where you can search those emails. And there are several emails to be found about the MLP movie coming out in 2017.  Season vs. Season 2 (Episode 4)Now that I've watched this season's episode twice to form a better opinion, I feel confident enough to move on to the comparison. So, today we get to look at this set of episodes:Season 1: Applebuck Season Season 2: Luna Eclipsed Season 3: One Bad Apple Season 4: Daring Don't Season 5: Bloom and Gloom Let's see. I think this time I'm going to go with this: Luna Eclipsed > Applebuck Season > Daring Don't > Bloom and Gloom > One Bad Apple Is anybody surprised at my #1 choice? Luna is one of my favorite characters, and this might be her best showing. This episode is what made her better than any of the other princesses. It made her much more relatable than Cadence or Celestia. I would love to see another episode that humanizes her, or better still an episode that does that for Celestia! Come on, Hasbro! Five seasons and no Celestia episode? Applebuck Season is the moment for me that the show really started to step things up … |
 Season vs. Season 2 (Episode 3)Okay, this one is going to be a bit rougher. I don't think there is a bad or even a mediocre episode in the mix here. Ranking this for me is going to be a bit tough. Well... I think I'll go with this:Lesson Zero > Castle Sweet Castle > Castle Mane-ia > Too Many Pinkie Pies > The Ticket Master Lesson Zero, to me, is Party of One done right. I know a lot of people love Party of One, but I find it to be just... alright. Lesson Zero, however, I find much funnier, and certainly the most entertaining of the crop we have today. Crazy Twilight is a treat to behold, and this episode may very well have Spike's best portrayal in the entire show. Gold star. I'm a bit surprised that I'm putting Castle Sweet Castle here myself. There are some spots I find relatively average during the episode. It's entertainment to me is about on par with Castle Mane-ia.  Cheer me up?Twilicorn ruined the show for me.I went into S4 with an open mind, but I just couldn't like it. Every time Twilicorn appears on screen, I cringe a little. It's just so... stupid and pointless, you know? A constant reminder of the crap they're willing to pull to advertise their toys, disregarding how it fits (or doesn't fit) into the actual show. The way they treated Twilight's friends in the finale really left a sour taste in my mouth... and the castle was like Twilicorn all over again. I started watching originally because the show used to be better than this. The train is meh, Cadence barely appears (and when she does she actually does stuff), but Twilicorn and the castle are being pushed into our faces all the time. I can't get myself to watch S5, even though I'm still (somewhat) involved in the community. I'd like to be excited again but just thinking about it makes me sad. Help me rekindle the flames, guys.  Box OfficeTracking the Google Trends search-term figures for "My Little Pony" and "Friendship is Magic," I had concluded that interest in the show peaked in December 2013 and has been declining slowly ever since.But if you add "pony" as a third search term (pic), you get a surprise. Searches for "pony" have always been more numerous than the other two, probably reflecting interest in IRL small horses. But ever since the show started in 2010, the "pony" and "My Little Pony" curves have run in pretty exact parallel -- which means that the small-horse searches are constant, and the bumps in the "pony" curve are generated by MLP fans.  Starswirl the bearded: fake ultimate hero of the MLP universe?Just thinking, it seems like starswirl is starting to seem more and more like MLP's version of Mr. Satan with the backstories they have going for him.There's all these legends of him being this great unicorn hero, but it seems like the thing he's being most characterized by lately is failure, with his accomplishments not being as grand as they'd seem. Take for example the comic's explanation for why he knew so many spells: he didn't COME UP with them himself; rather he traded and shared for them with a near infinite number of alternate universes; he's not a researcher, he's a trader. The one thing he did was make the magical mirrors. Further, the comic's take on his defeat of the dazzles shows that it wasn't some awesome act of heroism on his part; he basically screwed around, failed alot, and then just pushed them into his magical mirror thinking "I can't do this, I hope the Human world can".  Bulk Biceps in S5E3I just watched "Castle Sweet Castle", and it was certainly quite an episode; yep, the crew still has the magic in them.Now, what was your immediate reaction when Bulk Biceps suddenly jumped into the scene? To me, it was very "eye popping" like a lot of the other "eye popping" takes on the show, yet it was also priceless like hearing Nibblit become the "Love Doctor" on Pound Puppies.  Did Starlight Glimmer believe in equality the way she preached it?I caught up with the new season a bit later than most but found the time to watch the first two episodes of season 5, and I have a hard time deciding whether Starlight really was being genuine about cutie marks hurting everyone or if it was just bullshit to get ponies' cutie marks for some other, as of yet unknown, reason.After their little song and dance she said to herself (and the audience) > Well, this will certainly provide a boost to our little community.  Season vs. Season 2 (Episodes 1 and 2)Well, with a dawn of a new season, it's time to bring this back! For those of you who don't remember my old threads, the schtick is that we look at the same numbered episodes from each season and compare them across the board. It's a fun little way to see which seasons really stand out from the rest. Sometimes the choices are easy. Other times doing a proper ranking is really hard and which episode falls where just comes down to how I feel that day.So, the season premiers. Every single one of them have been a two-parter, so we can compare episodes one and two as a whole. Now, I've only seen the fifth season's premiere once thus far at the time of writing, but I feel like I can accurately rank my thoughts thus far based on my own emotional scale.  Is this what I think it is? Collapsing toy/push puppet? They're little old toy things with internal strings, and if you compress the base, the model goes limp. Once you release it goes back to being taut.I've been thinking of seeing if there was a market for these kind of pone toys, especially one for Pinkie Pie since the models behave most like pronking.  I'm predicting Trixie and Glimmer are estranged sisters. It just fits too well - Glimmer's attitude stemming from Trixie being an insufferable braggart, both leaving home on their opposing missions. It's even likely that Glimmer discovered her talent for manipulating other ponies by playing on her friends' dislike of Trixie. |

 So, i was thinking what could be a problem with me and the show lately.why im more exceptical than ever, even when there is no information to make me think something is going wrong, or something bad is comming. So i have being watching others shows in the mean while. Steven Universe and Gravity falls. and i think maybe a reason. Is that ponies give me that feeling that they are doing stuff just to fit a toy line, while this other shows make me wonder what are they going to do or going for. and i dont get that feeling of them making it for an uninspired reason. It is unfair to compare FIM to others shows because at the end FIM is just a commercial tool and nothing else? and how can i get the feel that FIM is really trying to go for something....while EqG doesnt help.... |

 Flash Sentry is not a character, he is an object to be obtained by the now Princess Twilight Sparkle. He is an accesory, a prize for her to win, like the damsels in distress from the past, in this reconstruction of the hero's tale that is Equestria Girls, Flash Sentry is a compliment to Twilight Sparkle: The pony version is a soldier, his inherent quality as such is his physical strength that constracts with Twilight's love for books; Human Flash on the other hand is a rocker who doesn't like to follow conventional rules (shown by his ripped shirt and how he sits on the cafeteria), a bad boy with a gold heart that complements Twilight in the human world, but that's all assumptions from the fans given by clear visual symbols and not personal actions (speaking of visual symbols, Flash Sentry's color pallette compliments Twilight's pretty well).Flash Sentry has to be saved by Twilight and her reward is a dance with him and almost getting a kiss, b … |

 So aside from reality warping + chaos related powers (and the occasional 4th wall breaking, although I doubt that counts as a "power) what sorts of powers do you think Discord has?I do remember him opening a doorway that seemingly led to a white vastnass of nothing. Although this could just be a fancier form of his teleportation via clicking, I like to think Discord can access other dimensions and realties, such as the alternate reality EG is set in. although you could get meta with the fourth wall breaking and say he can access the worlds other cartoons are set in, but that's just a silly little headcanon |

36790558Still no MLP:FiM at Nickelodeon's Kids Choice AwardsA couple of days ago, the list of candidate's for this year's "Kids Choice Awards" was released (http://www.eonline.com/news/627610/2015-nickelodeon-s-kids-choice-awards-honor-nick-jonas-meryl-streep-see-the-complete-list-of-nominees); and guess what: Even after MLP:FiM made it onto a super bowl commercial, Nickelodeon has still not listed the show as a nominee. What's more is that this year, Nick apparently increased the number of nominees for each category from 4 to 6; so there could have been room to include MLP:FiM. While Im not certain if the votes are rigged or not, even if they are, I still think MLP:FiM deserves to be a KCA nominee after everything it has accomplished. I am pretty certain a future gen will be CGI but that's not anytime soon. They find a simple spell and take it to Twilight, who after looking it over casts the spell and moves Fluttershy’s wings to Pinkie Pie. Airborne Pinkie and grounded Fluttershy are happy with their swapped lifestyles, for a while.  Are Twilight's five friends worthless?Because based on everyone's love for the Twilight/Tirek fight but hatred for the five key episodes, the Rainbow Power, and Rainbow Castle, the bronies are constantly making it look like that Twilight's friends were worthless.Seriously. It's been around six months still that S4 finale, and I still think about the way it (and the bronies) disregarded the Mane Five and their key episodes in-exchange for a bad-ass Super Saiyan Twilight. I still think of the way the fight replicated DBZ not only aesthetically, but also thematically.  So here's an ideaI'm sure we all like to defend the episodes we like and criticize the ones we don't, but let's flip things around a bit. Think of an episode you really enjoy, but that from a more objective standpoint wasn't really all that good. There's nothing wrong with enjoying something that has lots of problems, as long as you're aware of them and can look past them. Sometimes it seems like a lot of arguments here are people thinking that because they enjoyed something, it must be good and they have to deflect any criticism. Almost never do people say "Yeah it was definitely kinda dumb, but I love it anyway!"  Toysets and S5!So now that we're seeing some new toysets popping up, are there any theories about any possible directions S5 is going to go, based on them?In the past, we've gotten: -"Crystal Empire" sets and singles, foreshadowing the Crystal Empire episodes of S3 -"Rainbow Power" toys and toysets, foreshadowing the major story arc of S4 And now we've got "Pony Mania" and "Wild Rainbow" toys appearing. The "Pony Mania" sets are really weird, tbh. Looks like they took the characters and gave them "goth" clothing and makeup. What with the black makeup, lacy stockings, excessive use of black/dark pink colors and stripes, etc. "Wild Rainbow" on the other hand, seems to be roughly the same thing, but with uh...leopard spots, stripes, and vibrant neon color gradients.  What is friendship and teamwork in MLP?You know, every time I have to deal with the S4 finale's deliberate abandonment of MLP's core friendship themes for the sake of that one-minute Twilight/Tirek fight, I'm constantly suggesting that Twilight's friends should be around the same power levels as Twilight herself, so that they could be equally powerful and resourceful to each other in defeating Tirek. It was why we were eventually given the Rainbow Power, which may be a Deus Ex Machina compared to the alicorn magic, but at least helped the finale return to its friendship-based roots after that dumb-ass DBZ fight.But then I thought about something: Friendship and teamwork do not involve everyone on the same team increasing their own powers individually, so that they could be equally powerful.  I have a question...So...I just watched Rainbow Falls again, and took 43 screencaps of images I found funny or good for reaction pictures in places like ponychan. While looking some comments left to my uploaded images, I noticed something strange. I wanted to make sure it's not just accident, so I looked through all my uploaded images, and guess what: Out of all 43 images, only 12 have downvotes (when I'm making this post): two images have 1 downvote, one have 3 and rest of them have 2 downvotes. That's not the interesting/strange part, but this is: All those images were Twilight pictures. Not only all those 12 Twilight pictures had downvotes, but I uploaded only those 12 Twilight pictures from the episode, and not a single non-Twilight picture were downvoted.  The moral of the S4 finale, did anyone care about it?So as a lot of you kept telling me, Twilight did not win the fight against Tirek at all. Instead, he held her friends hostage for her alicorn magic, and she willingly surrendered it to save them. In the process, it taught both Twilight and Discord a valuable life lesson that resulted in the former earning her final key:The power to blow up an entire planet, bring an entire species to extinction, or causing some other form of the apocalypse means absolutely nothing, compared to love, friendship, compassion, and teamwork. It's just that I have to wonder if bronies actually cared about that moral, which led to all of the Mane Six using Rainbow Power to defeat Tirek and restore everypony's magic, while earning Twilight, their leader, a new castle to replace the remains of her library.
