and boom, problem solved. by the way, like this is a "side musical video" everything you see here doesnt count for the lore, so it was a complete waste of time because it mean nothing, the song is uninspired, and there isnt any interesting animation (most of the animation are old clips, or sunset shimmer running in circles)

And the entire arc of sunset shimmer would be fine and all good, if i didnt hate her so badly.

And because I suspect Unlikeable will bring this up, while Sunset may have wings in her music video I'm not sure if that counts as ascending to be an alicorn. I took the wings as just being a visual metaphor for Sunset being like a phoenix, just as she mentioned being one in the song, plus I don't think they would have Sunset becoming an alicorn in a short when that seems like too pivotal of a thing to put into supplementary stuff.

So if you feel like this is Sunset ascending into becoming an alicorn, I just ask to wait for either confirmation from the staff or until we see her transform again and see whether or not she still has wings or if it was just an effect for that song.

Im having problems bealiving the show isnt a shallow sell out alot of the time, Equestria Girls will be almost impossible to fool me.

But yes, I take this as HEAVY foreshadowing that they're on board with her gaining permanent wings soon, and that in EQG 3 there's a very good chance she'll ascend.

I wouldn't be surprised if the climax of EQG3 has sunset dogfighting with Midnight sparkle for a bit before convincing her of her faults and that friendship is the truly valuable thing (Due to having gone through that before herself)

On that note, I REALLY like that they give her a horse tail of fire in the video instead of just having fire wings. Damnit the girls need horse tails!

Sunset's video has a nice premise, but its not that strong as a musical. the Friendship through the ages one is EASILY the best. and Life is a runway beats out sunset vocally.

FiM is still great right now, but outside of the song at the end, TK part 2 was trash, and took itself way too seriously. I'm sure MLP will regain its place come Saturday, but right now EQG is IMO riding a bit higher. There's a neutron star of potential for where EQG can go from here, and these videos are a taste. Shimmy shimms went from a lifeless, vapid, uber cunt, to the ultimate redeemed hero, and perhaps one of my new favorite characters.

Going to come right out here and Voice my disagreement here.The fact that Part 2 Took itself seriously was a STRENGTH. I quite enjoyed that stuff.
There's no reason a show can't take itself seriously for adventure scenarios while still maintaining a jovial feel the rest of the time (look at one piece for example), and I liked that aspect of the finale.

Plus, the final 10 minutes of that episode are incredible.

Think you might be overstating a little there. While I 100% agree sunset REALLY did a 180 for Rainbow rocks (I absolutely loathed the bitch in EQG and found no pleasure from her except comics lambasting her), I don't think "Ultimate redeemed hero" is something she's become.

She's a GOOD character now. that's not what I'd classify as the the Ultimate level of redeemed heroism. Something like Kenshin himura, now that's the ultimate Redeemed hero. Cecil from FF4, that's the ultimate redeemed hero. Sunset's just a good friend and character.

I've been meaning to comment on this one: I gotta say, Pinkie pie's part is a terrible addition.
While I normally LOVE pinkie's singing voice (I would even go so far as to say she's the best singer, since Dash hasn't really gotten a chance to get solo songs), this part just clashes.

the music and vibe of that section is just so utterly unlike the previous musical portions that it brings the video to a screeching halt.

On unrelated note, this is probably the FIRST time that I think AJ has had a good singing part in a song. This really felt nice, compared to her other uber-country songs, and I wish we could get more stuff like that (real mellow) in the future.

They're all meant to represent different eras and genres. Twilight has classical ballroom kind of music, I believe Fluttershy is a reference to The Sound of Music from the 50s, I've seen someone compare Rarity to Beatles era rock and roll, etc. Pinkie seems to be from the 80s or 90s with all that techno music.

The issue is it just TOO different. You can have 90s techno that doesn't sound that drastically different in flow. its melody breaks from the previous one's melodies.
Like, Dash's part was a Massive shift in style, but it kept the same melody in a recognizable way, yeah? Pinkies just felt jarringly different in how it presented the melody.
