Hey, kids, the world just got cooler!
Stand back while I make the scene.
I'm the most, uh! And that ain't no boast,
I'm the swingin'est thing from coast to coast.
I'm a lizard's nightmare, I'm every girl's dream,
The picture of perfect, you know what I mean?
I'm Leo Luster (Pow)!
I'm where it's at, I'm a far-out happenin' cat!
Uh! I'm Leo Luster, baby I'm a trip.
Man it hurts to be this hip!

All cities have dark sides, and Canterlot is certainly no exception. On the wrong side of the tracks, everything appears to be dark and cold, the rainy weather being but an exclamation mark deepening the atmosphere of alienation and lurking fear.

His hand moved with fluid certainty as each stroke of the charcoal pencil brought forth a little more detail to the scene before him. It was not his best, but then again, maps hardly ever were. His thin hands were not striving to create one of his often hailed as 'magnificent' artworks, but rather working the outline of a battlefield; a tool that he would use to illustrate the carefully thought out plan in his mind.

The tip of the charcoal snaps and shoots across the table, bouncing off the sleek maroon leather seat across from him before rolling to a stop on the floor. He sighs.

He often got nervous just before a hunt with a new group. There was so much room for error, and so little for success. A simple and seemingly straight-forward plan could be tossed to the fryers if you lacked the basics of a group dynamic. Trust, of course, was the key element if you were to have a successful hunt. But how could one trust someone they new very little of? It was difficult, and sometimes almost nigh impossible. He himself had seen it too many times in his years on the streets. All it took was a seed..an inkling of doubt or fear, and before you knew it, that kid who was supposed to watch your back was now a mile down the road and still running, leaving you open to attack. He didn't want that. Didn't need it, and he wouldn't have it. Which was why he was going to test them first. See how they could hold up as a team before they went after the big prize.

With the same fluid motion used to draw the streets, trees, and shops-all key area points to be used for the first test-his hand reached to his coat pocket and withdrew a small sharpener, which he went on to use to carve a new point from his tool, his eyes glancing up briefly at the door, and then the clock. Seven fourty two. The sun had yet

"...Do I have to?"

He swallowed. His eyes furtively glanced at the pipe on the ground.

"I mean, don't you need....an arrest warrant? Wait - yeah!" He exclaimed suddenly, taking a step back, pointing at the stranger. "You can't order me to do shit! Let's see that paper you...officer you!"

The fact he'd had a gun pointed at him earlier somehow did not feel the need to reconcile itself with actual, normal policework.

"Really? You really going to make this hard? Look I don't get what you're so fucking afraid of. If I wanted to hurt you I would have done it. If I wanted to kill you, you never would have left your shop earlier this evening."

He puts his hands down and takes a step towards Chuck. He meets him eye to eye-his earlier humour and good will gone. His face is hard now, lacking in sympathy.

"If you think you got any rights..then I ask you to think back..on what happened to the Japs in nineteen forty two."

The words come out in quiet, short, clips; each one being spoken with a little more toxicity than the last.

Apparently the Morphus do not possess the ability to emulate changes in vocal tone. Either that or Bacchus is just naturally monotone.
With a gesture, a holographic keyboard materializes in front of him, and he begins typing at a rapid pace.
"If it would not be rude of me to inquire, in what manner do you differ from others of your race?"

Fun fact: The Morphus have never encountered a Gallifreyan before.

#Open #Canon: The Unikon #Fresh start #Adventure #Dark #Violence #Ponies #Semi-serious

The frozen, mountainous regions of the northern Unikon was densely packed with trees. The small mining community of Celestia was buried under several feet of snow. Hoofbeats upon the catwalks that lined the wooden palisade walls were slow and regular, as infantry patrolled the border of the town, eyes out towards the untamed wilderness.

The lonesome call of the Locomotive in the distance could be heard, the soldiers quickly lining up towards the rails, rifles pointed outwards. They watched and waited, seeing the plume roll out of the engine's stack, smearing the clear air with ash, smoke, cinders, and steam.

Inside the cars, another group of passengers to enter the town, with them came supplies and munitions for the defenders of the town.

This was Celestia. A once prosperous mining town, railroad tracks now the only means of entering and transferring from town to town, or to the mines via the narrow gauge.

==================================================================

The thunderous buffetting of air rumbled overhead, the screech of the Thunderbirds reminding the ponyfolk below who still owned the skies. The snow blanketed the larger bodies of the wolven clans and bears that occasionally raided the town.

Don't actually do dice rolls. Honor system and what not.
The massive warrior fell back with a bellowing moan, powder and fire hitting him as he collapsed in a heap. Though where he opened a void, it was soon filled, two more bears taking their fallen comrade's place.

The train car shook, seeming to teeter, wood paneling splintering with each impact. More ponies, mules, and donkeys quickly came to their senses, grabbing what weapon they could if they did not have a firearm, swinging makeshift clubs and blades at their unrelenting foe, a few pickaxes swinging towards the creatures.

The old grave digger gripped onto a stepladder with his teeth, swinging about to clamber on and up it, hooves gaining little purchase upon the ice covered metal. He made sure to keep his tongue well back from the bars as he hauled himself up, trenchcoat fluttering in the gusts. Another volley of throwing axes and javelins flew over them, bouncing fruitlessly upon the rooftop and rock face.

Requiem managed to haul himself onto the catwalk, though he was winded, keeping low as he moved aside to give his new acquaintence room to come up.

"Stay low! I'll keep 'em distracted!" He turned back around, firing off a massive hail of buckshot, the 10 gauge shotgun's report booming through the pass.

It is that time of the year...I think...okay. I'll be honest. The original creator of this thread only said when it was made like, once. It's somewhere around the end of march.

Besides the point....We're four years old! Lets not get sappy or sad at people who were wants here. Lets not think of all the fights and drama. Lets think of all the fun we've had. all the friends we've made. All the times people were there for one another. All the shitty things we survived on the internet...like homestuck. Remember that? Yeah! I don't either!

Lets see how much longer we can keep trucking! And when someone comes along saying we're killing our thread that usually gets 600-1500 post a day.

All cities have dark sides, and Canterlot is certainly no exception. On the wrong side of the tracks, everything appears to be dark and cold, the rainy weather being but an exclamation mark deepening the atmosphere of alienation and lurking fear.

Inside, amongst the tables and chairs dating back to the last century, with their nicks and stains and worn out padding, you can finally get yourself dry, drink something hot and wait out the rain. There's even a antique jukebox - someone placed the damaged neon 'o' from the sign outside next to it, the stylised glass donut looking a bit out of place with the sombre décor.

Here, all are welcome and accepted – so long as violence does not occur, as indicated by a the sign reading “Weapon bin by the door, put it in or we put you out. Cold."

And not by accident—someone WANTED it that way.

TODAY IN THE NEWS!
NOTORIOUS TERRORISTS APPREHENDED, AWAITING TRIAL AND EXECUTION!

In the aftermath of a devastating firefight which claimed almost 20 lives, Lonestar has reported the successful incarceration of four of the terrorists connected to the Night of Fire Rampage. The shooters have been successfully connected to over a dozen massacres and grand thefts, including the recent Cornerstone Armored Car robbery. Lonestar's Canterlot-area cabinet of generals has called this an "unqualified success" and "both justification and encouragement for the continuous inflation of our government budget". However, they have also cautioned Canterlot residents against early celebration, and stated that they will NOT be reducing their presence in the city. This motion was condoned by Chief Centurion Royal Blue, who stated that "There are more terrorists out there...and they will not back down this easily".

The terrorists are currently awaiting trial and hanging.

The first rain of the year came on January Eleventh. It was the first rain since the Night of Fire that wasn't made of chocolate. The old standard was new again, and the new standard was locked up in Dead Man's Ridge Maximum-Security Penitentiary. It's not much of an exaggeration to say that the first few days of 57-6A were a miserable time to be an Operator—in between the heightened police presence, the lack of arms coming into the city, and a dozen other things besides, the work had gotten harder and the cuts had been reduced by magnitudes.

Pretty. Eska had thought of him as pretty. He wondered, for a moment, whether she would have left him if he had never had his face ruined. The thought was gone soon enough, but it left a lingering bad taste in his mouth. The idea of murdering even more ponies to get at a tool to murder more ponies after that, however, was the least of his concerns. He nodded agreeably. Doubtlessly, it would be occupied. That would be--

The shotgun turned toward him threateningly, the barrel gleaming in the dim light. He could swear he could see her grinning, hoof drifting to the trigger. He jolted back to life -- a trick, of course, her casualness always was. He made to step to the side and realized that she was, in fact, merely looking over at him. His breathing had quickened, and his blood was pounding in his ears, but he forced himself to stay still and meet her eyes.

"... Right. Right, 'course," he briskly replied, nodding like he hadn't just been about to run for the hills. He forced a small, bitter smile up the good side of his face. "M-- maybe this one won't blow up on you as much."

He laughed, though it came out as a series of wheezes.

"Well, whatever you think'll keep you from dyin'. Again." Pausing, his brow furrowed, and he glanced away as if thinking something over. He took even less time than normal, and looked back at her curiously. "What was it like? Dyin', I mean."

He didn't seem to fully comprehend the personal nature of this question; it was layered only in an incrementally larger amount of awkwardness.

"Um... you pretty much got it, right on the money." He chuckled. "It's a shit hole down here obviously, but we're just kind of roughin' it down here until we get our faces not-so sought out for murder, I wouldn't really want to go back to prison again." he chuckled out as some low-run bar began to get into view that he seemed to be approaching in the what could possibly be considered growing and renovating small town.

Their home was torn by war. Three Generations knew nothing more than the sharp rapt of the kettledrums, the blare of trumpets, and the clash of steel.

For decades, humanity has fought the orcish tide, both races forming strong alliances with other likeminded friends and allies. All over their land, the races either pledged their loyalties to the Grand Alliance, or the Orcish Horde.

Both sides have fought long and hard. Now they stand, once again on the eve of another confrontation, on another foreign soil. They bring with them a war that did not belong to those that were native to this new soil. A war that has wrought the near devastation of countless lands and worlds in their wake.

==================================================================

"The hell kind of a name is 'Ponyville'?" The footman scratched at the side of his head, his elegant blue and brushed steel helm at the crook of his arm. Around him, various laborers of the Alliance busied themselves with cutting down trees and refitting lumber, setting down the foundations for a small garrison.

The battlemage looked at the sign, giving a frown as she mouthed the word quietly, trying to make sense of it. She shook her head, giving an exacerbated sigh. "I don't know, maybe they're famous for horses here or something. All I know is, it says it's 5 miles up the road."

Well you could just play a more setting appropriate sellsword from the world of Azeroth. Keep the name, personality but subtract the whacky powers. You could even choose undead if you wanted with the forsaken and all.

Alright, I'll go make up a character sheet for my own reference and try to find a play to come in.
