Oh, what am I saying, if it reaches you at all it will be a miracle sent from our dearly departed Princesses. Yes. If news has not already reached you, then this will be the first that you have heard. Both Princess Celestia and Luna have been slain, and Princess Cadence is nowhere to be found, or so the guards have told me. The guards know little of what has truly befallen our lovely Equestria, but they assure us that Twilight Sparkle, and her brother-Shining Armor, will be able to provide us with some sort of hope. I pray it is sooner rather than later. We, myself and a large group of other survivors, are holding up in the capitals main library. When this..darkness.. … |
On the Edge of Equestria near the western forests. Lies Trotswood, a small town on the Edge of civilization as ponies know it. A haven for the weird and supernatural, Trotswood has never grown into a particularly large town and though ponies come and go, it needs more ponies to grow. Ponies who can run shops, work jobs, and defend the town from the horrors that lurk at its edges. The town is small right now, consisting of a few shops, some homes, a hospital, and the bar next to the hospital. Trotswood is supposed to be a growing community, where there is no overall OP to handle anything but OOC disputes and the rules. Everything is player driven, the story, the town, the ponies in in the town. It is a place players can make an arc, and bring the whole town into it, you do not have to make up a setting or anything, just take the town and its basics and make it into a place to base your story out of. Trying to be inclusive to everyone is … |

Maretropolis!! A city of wonders and unbelievable sights that stagger the imagination! Deep in the technological heart of the Ponyverse, a world away from Equestria in space and time, the buildings of Maretropolis reach up like titans fighting for a place in the sky. Every day sees new technological progress that baffles the imagination, ever blind to its own usage for good or for destruction. However, the breakneck pace of Maretropolis' progress into the future is limited not just to the intellectual, but the physical as well! Super-powered meta-equines pop up with alarming frequency, with strange abilities as mysterious and amazing to modern ponykind as magic to their earthbound ancestors! Welcome to Koniksburg, a mining community in the far northeastern reaches of Equestria. Expect LOTS of snowball fights, evergreens, maple syrup, stylish scarves, and fetlocks unshorn, just as nature intended. The town is surrounded by the Crystal Mountains, a place where many a wondrous adventure and mystery can be found. This thread is for the players of the session based campaign "Snowponies" that's been going on for about a year, and a half now. A place to role play events ‘between episodes’ in a more relaxed play by post way when folks have the time. Last edited at Fri, Apr 17th, 2015 14:29 |

Now, this someone had a name...but finding it, that was the hard part. TODAY IN THE NEWS HELICOPTER CRASH OVER VIETNEIGH DMZ KILLS FOUR, INCLUDING PROMINENT PRODUCER Disaster struck during an Equestrian military flight today, when a helicopter suffered a severe electronics malfunction and crashed in the Vietneigh DMZ. The flight's passengers included two Equestrian soldiers, as well as prominent film producer Hoss Wheaton, who was scouting the DMZ for his new film. It was the first chartered military flight since the dissolution of Lonestar's federal defense contract, and pundits are already pointing to the crash as a symptom of the Equestrian army's incompetence. Grand Magister Winterscar is already allegedly accelerating negotiations with military contractors, while assuring representatives that he will not consider his own company in the proceedings... His hand moved with fluid certainty as each stroke of the charcoal pencil brought forth a little more detail to the scene before him. It was not his best, but then again, maps hardly ever were. His thin hands were not striving to create one of his often hailed as 'magnificent' artworks, but rather working the outline of a battlefield; a tool that he would use to illustrate the carefully thought out plan in his mind. The tip of the charcoal snaps and shoots across the table, bouncing off the sleek maroon leather seat across from him before rolling to a stop on the floor. He sighs. He often got nervous just before a hunt with a new group. There was so much room for error, and so little for success. A simple and seemingly straight-forward plan could be tossed to the fryers if you lacked the basics of a group dynamic. Trust, of course, was the key element if you were to have a successful hunt … |

The frozen, mountainous regions of the northern Unikon was densely packed with trees. The small mining community of Celestia was buried under several feet of snow. Hoofbeats upon the catwalks that lined the wooden palisade walls were slow and regular, as infantry patrolled the border of the town, eyes out towards the untamed wilderness. The lonesome call of the Locomotive in the distance could be heard, the soldiers quickly lining up towards the rails, rifles pointed outwards. They watched and waited, seeing the plume roll out of the engine's stack, smearing the clear air with ash, smoke, cinders, and steam. Inside the cars, another group of passengers to enter the town, with them came supplies and munitions for the defenders of the town. This was Celestia. And not by accident—someone WANTED it that way. TODAY IN THE NEWS! NOTORIOUS TERRORISTS APPREHENDED, AWAITING TRIAL AND EXECUTION! In the aftermath of a devastating firefight which claimed almost 20 lives, Lonestar has reported the successful incarceration of four of the terrorists connected to the Night of Fire Rampage. The shooters have been successfully connected to over a dozen massacres and grand thefts, including the recent Cornerstone Armored Car robbery. Lonestar's Canterlot-area cabinet of generals has called this an "unqualified success" and "both justification and encouragement for the continuous inflation of our government budget". However, they have also cautioned Canterlot residents against early celebration, and stated that they will NOT be reducing their presence in the city. This motion was condoned by Chief Centurion Royal Blue, who stated that "There are … |

Their home was torn by war. Three Generations knew nothing more than the sharp rapt of the kettledrums, the blare of trumpets, and the clash of steel. For decades, humanity has fought the orcish tide, both races forming strong alliances with other likeminded friends and allies. All over their land, the races either pledged their loyalties to the Grand Alliance, or the Orcish Horde. Both sides have fought long and hard. Now they stand, once again on the eve of another confrontation, on another foreign soil. They bring with them a war that did not belong to those that were native to this new soil. Story When Equestria set out for the stars, under the rule of the Representative, they started out by building mining operations to bring back to their home. Eventually the idea of space had become a common interest for the typical Equestrian and soon space stations and colonies invited ponies to live out beyond their atmosphere. The newly formed populations believed that the Representatives control no longer applied to them and seceded. Equestrian forces fought against these communities but gave due to the high costs of sending military forces out in to space and Equestrian involvement was drastically reduced. The colonies with their new found freedom soon created their own factions, took up territories and celestial bodies, and amassed small armies to defend themselves. I found myself within a forest dark, for the straightfoward pathway had been lost...How hard a thing is to say, what was this forest savage, rough, and stern, which in the very thought renews the fear? So bitter is it, death is little more... He seethed and bled, heat and exhaustion and vertigo consuming the blind man's last remaining vestiges of strength with every step he took down the dark and freezing path, deeper and deeper into the winding serpentine streets. Fever and frostbite conspired to murder him before he could take another step, bitter cold and oppressive heat weighing down upon the lost soul. His thoughts had long since lost solidity, the deep, oozing gash in his chest drawing blood away from the finer workings of his mind; the figure's thoughts were as sluggish as they were unfocused, only the singular passage of Aligheri's work repeating l … |

Fear. One of the most potent forces. An instrument to rule over others, to bind and break them. A tool of tyrants and monsters. How grim and narrow-minded. Fear of the dark and cold gave birth to fire. Fear of being forgotten creates truly amazing works of art. Fear of loneliness forms friendships and communities. Fear of extinction creates new life. Sit for a while, and witness for yourself what tremendous feats a small band of heroes could be motivated to accomplish...out of their fear of death. Look to the other end of the playing field...at the soulless monstrosity plaguing the land, its vast army...and the puppet it has created to gain my favor and sate my hunger. Amazing what fear can create, no? Look, they have almost reached their destination. Impressive that they managed to get the ship up and ready in such a short time, don't you think? Fear, … |

Sometimes, well let’s say all times, things are changing. We are judged as human beings on how we treat our fellow human beings. How do you treat your fellow human beings? At night, just before sleep, as you lay by yourself in the dark, how do you feel about yourself? Are you proud of your behavior? Are you ashamed of your behavior? You know in your heart if you have hurt someone, you know. If you have hurt someone, don’t wait another day before making things right. The world could break apart with sadness in the meantime. --Catherine E. Coulson |

Once upon a time, in the magical land of Equestria, there were two regal sisters who ruled together, and created harmony for all the land. To do this, the eldest used her unicorn powers to raise the sun at dawn; the younger brought out the moon to begin the night. Thus, the two sisters maintained balance for their kingdom and their subjects, all the different types of ponies. At least, that's how it used to be. Back before she took the throne... |

It's ancient times in Eden. One large group to protect the land has split into 3 smaller groups. The Leekins, the angels, and the Derkins. Our story begins in small village located in the North Eastern part of Eden. Children are playing with their mothers and their laughter can be heard all around. The fathers are out gathering food and supplies, but not too far from home. A small boy, around the age of twelve, isolates himself from the rest behind his parent’s house, practicing his swordplay on a crudely made dummy. “Why can’t I do it?! AH!” he roars as he throws himself and his wooden sword into the dummy. |
Greetings Ponychan! This is a side-thread of the Dark Moon canon from MLPchan, open to a new audience! Anybody is free to try a character here, provided it's in harmony with the canon's setting and theme. The canon power limit is partially outlined in the lore document, but as a general rule, no characters capable of very large-scale destruction. Any desired exceptions to the rules can be taken up with one of the canon managers, which are Nevermore, Cyan Hide, Ace_Noir and Conch Shell. >This is a story set in the near-future year of 1997, where Harmony has fallen to the forces of greed, mistrust, and violence. A war between corporations on the advent of the arrival of advanced technology devastated the peaceful world of Equestria, and what was left behind was profoundly changed. It's a dark world that the people inhabit, but there are points of light out t … |

"Are we there yet? I've been freezing my tail off for the past four days digging through icy holes. This had better be the right one." growled a tall, muscled dragonkin, his drab purple scales pocked with ice and his shoulders layered in powdery snow. "Yes yes, this should be the right one. I think. Well according to my maps and navigation spells should be the place." responded the young mage, her voice filled with enthusiasm, almost skipping into the frigid, dark cavern before them. The dragonkin shook his head and grunted, following closely behind the girl. |

"Everyone's okay, right? Right." You just sent a goddamn giant lizard thing over a cliff. You're more than okay. "Now, we gotta find a few things. First, the rest of the Hoofen soldiers. They didn't exactly help much..." Having spent most of today on this island, you can think of a lot of things that could have happened to your escort--eaten by those clawed monkeys, killed by whatever caved in the head of that one guy (why crystals?), lost in the forests surrounding the compound... "We're probably gonna need shelter, too. It's gettin' dark." The rumbles of your stomach agree. Shelter would be nice. If only you could've gotten a few things out of the cafeteria... |

Garlands and skulls and dead rats and confetti are everywhere. On the counter are a variety of free snacks (all of them almond flavored, for some reason) and a large pile of party crackers. The library is auto staffed Ponies often travel from far and wide to visit the great capital of Canterlot. Some are on official business, other's may merely be passing though, and occasionally a pony just has a bucket list to check off. Whatever the reason you are in Canterlot today, you will soon find yourself in the midst of a nasty storm. All around you ponies are fleeing for cover from the snow and wind, shops have begun to close down, and guards are urging ponies to get inside. Amongst all this relative chaos stands the Canterlot library, whose open doors seem warm and welcoming. Inside on a counter next to the librarian is a random assortment of warm drinks and snacks. Anything from apple cider, hot chocolate, even coffee! And the sign next to it merely reads: Help yourself to a warm beverage and snack, they're free so long as you do not make a mess~ So grab something warm, pull … |
All cities have dark sides, and Canterlot is certainly no exception. One I couldn't do in the city of Montpellier. Riding a dirtbike, I was given a 220 Yamaha Trailing bike, the first thing i did was promptly drive as far as I could into the woods around my new home as I could and camp. Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the bar, all the ponies were snoozing, as they often are. No stockings were hung, for lack of invention; and the gutters were heavy with water retention. Yet all through the gloom and smothering dark, voices so high did merrily hark; for the children and grown had all come together, to spread Hearthswarming cheer in spite of the weather. The crux of the matter, for reasons quite clear, were the saints of the season, the tiny Reindeer. They numbered sum eight of varying hues, and each had assembled for holiday dues. For promise of presents and love of the game, each took his antlers, and on a new name: heard through the night, by one and by all, came a voice filled with might and its thunderous call: "On Varmoose, on Air Clip, on Dom and on Vixen; on Blowhard, on Andrew, on Prof and Starblitzen!" ________ … |

It's that time of year! The time where it's either the happiest, most magical time of year! Or the most hopeless saddest time of the year. But lets go with happiest. As all you need is a good drink, friendship, and more drinks. Today the donut bar is decked out in holiday spirit. If you looked closely you could see several Decorations that referenced things. Like starwars, or the avengers or Godzilla! How could you tell? Godzilla took the place of the star at the topic of the Christmas tree, shooting out his atomic breath at Halo 3 frigates. Tis was a good Christmasy feel to everything even if it was nerdy. Yes. Dom does this a lot and his home is even more so like this with cartoony stuff all over the place. The tree had orange and black lights on it, as well as some pumpkins and skulls. This seemed like a really cool idea, so I decided to make my own. RULES 1. On the thread, you will suggest actions for your character to take. 2. Banter and collaboration is allowed, so are random gifs (but not shitposting, please.) 3. To do anything NSFW or something that has a very clear possibility of getting your character killed, please ask your fellow players if the action should be considered. 4. After you have taken an action, you may not suggest another action until someone else has taken an action. 5. Have fun! STORY You are on a train, which is heading towards the small town of Ponyville. You are not quite sure why you chose this destination, or when you'll get back home. However, you do know that you are a unicorn. On your person, you have package of fruit gummies, a suitcase filled with personal care supplies, (You don't quite remember what exact supplies you packed, though.) and a broken stopwatch. It has been a week since the lands fell to ruin. The most sacred land among the united tribes was sullied by an Equestrian settlement, known then as Twilight City, suddenly erupted one frosty morning in an endless array of strange demonic spirits, known only to the tribes as the Wendigo. Just as it was thousands of years ago, the Thunderbird tribe began the long, arduous task of containing and quarantining of the accursed beasts, blanketing the Unikon territories in a permanent winter. The bears used their abilities to attempt to keep the land healed of the taint that spewed forth from the now desecrated Source, hoping to maintain the natural order as it was. The wolves took to battle to confront the wendigo, despite knowing well enough the curse they would have to endure, the allure of power that would be strong. As for the pony settlers, many fled to the south towards the mining settlements of C … |

DJ Bluehooves, just the average pony, lives the average life, other than hiding his identity, because he produces and mixes music and isn't too sure if he is ready for the fame that comes along with it. The time is morning, The door to his little shack located right beside the Everfree Forest opens and he trots out with a yawn, stretching his hooves. "Ahh~ Vat a beautiful day!" He says in his thick GerMANE accent, not knowing Equestrian English the best. He closes and locks his door looking at the town, wondering what kind of adventures are going to happen today, for today he goes into town without his disguise, ((Power limit is talent based, nothing too overkill. Equestria has never been, and will never be, a normal society. Magic runs rampant throughout the streets whilst cities float in the clouds. But, in some parts of the world, magic and the unnatural flourish more than usual. An example of one of these places is Hooferville, which has been a rift from this world to the next ever since Starswirl the Bearded opened it and gifted Equestria with even more magical power than the land already possessed. This has also made it a popular place for the supernatural to be appearing. Angels, demons, and ethereal beings come through this rift sometimes and dwell among the residents. As of late, there has been a string of disappearances of young fillies and stallions who do not have their cutie marks. This is where your story begins.
