The background image of applebloom makes the OP difficult to read when its on top of her. Unfortunately the OP's class is generated by the server which makes assigning styles to it somewhat wonky.

You can try:
>I hope the code tag exists
#delform div blockquote{ background-color: #fff; }

and set the background to your body tag's BG color to make it easier to read.

On the main page I would suggest doing a similar thing with the "newcontent" and "recentpostmessage" classes to improve readability. Also increase the contrast for the headers and buttons. Black on dark red is hard on my eyes.

#delform>div>blockquote
with explicit direct decendance as a selector might be a better choice to avoid accidentally styling other elements. As wonky as the HTML is around here (tables, autogenerated style names that aren't selectable), it seems to help to be as specific as possible.

Ok heres a more edited version. Is it possible to change the opacity on the bg image on the front page and front page alone?

You can't apply transparency to just the background of an element, unless the actual image or color has an alpha value.

If that's the route you're looking for you will want to set the transparent image to the body's background, this will appear on all non-board pages. The non-transparent image (and color) should be applied to the background of #bodywrap1.

I was able to give her a slight transparency, enough so that the recent messages on the front page is readable, however the transparency moves over to the threads also.
