They don't seem to blend correctly either (though maybe that's because you haven't gotten that far yet.) Maybe one each on the far left and far right, instead of trying to break up the groups with them?

Nope, the bookends aren't working right. Here's the rendering I'm getting in Firefox 4.

Looks the same to me. They have the same rgb values. Can you drop it in an image editor and check them on your end for me?

Even if the gamma was still there it should render the same in FF, strange.

Okay, the blue matches up fine; I didn't realize that's what you were getting at. So if that's the case, I'll just have to say I don't think the bar looks right. The padding (or border, not sure) running along the bottom of #verytopbar along with the darker background color makes the light purple color blocks and the positive space of the bookends pop forward in the apparent z-order (the one in your head) so these things just look to be floating there in front of the bar. I'm curious what you might gain just by switching those two colors?

As on Appuljack, the icons are great and I love that attention to detail.

Ah ok I see what you're saying.

Inverted the colors and did some other little things, still not too happy with the nav so I'll keep fiddling with it.
